The wait for Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is almost over, and Bungie has made some substantial changes to both of the various currencies used in the game and the Eververse Trading Company. Bright Dust will still be the primary way of acquiring new Eververse items, but how that currency is earned will change.

To begin, Bright Dust is now awarded following the completion of Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard weekly and repeatable bounties. This shifts away from rewarding consistent daily bounties to weekly, which allows players greater flexibility in how they earn rewards without the frustration that comes with being busy and missing a daily activity. Note that any complete Crucible, Gambit, or Vanguard bounties need to be turned in before the maintenance on September 30th, as the expansion release will reset progress.

Items within the Eververse category will no longer be dismantled into Bright Dust. Instead, these will grant legendary shards and glimmer. Before the maintenance begins, players should dismantle any unwanted Eververse items to maximize their Bright Dust. The newest additions to the Eververse category in the upcoming Season of the Undying can be purchased for Bright dust after two weeks, most likely following the reset on October 15th.

One of the more interesting changes is that Eververse items will no longer require Bright Dust to be reacquired or to re-roll their perks from the Collections. Players will instead now pay the same cost of materials that reward items of the same type or rarity use.

With Season 7 drawing to a close, the Best of Year One Engram will be retired. The new Season 8 Nostalgic Engram will be available instead and is no longer earned from leveling up. Players will instead find the Bright Engram included with their free wards of the Season Pass before level 100, and also awarded with every five levels obtained after reaching level 100.

The Eververse storefront will now be found via the Director, and bounties, both standard and IGR, will be depreciated after Shadowkeep launched. Any remaining bounty notes can be turned into Bright Dust, and outstanding Eververse bounties can still be completed until they expire.

A final point that all players should be aware of is the potential for problems related to PC migration. All players are advised to do their player migration from Bungie.com (click here to begin the process). Not doing so, or doing so after starting an account on Steam may result in all new characters being overwritten, which can result in the loss of characters and Eververse items obtained.

These are the biggest incoming changes to the Eververse, with much to look forward to in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep!
