Following a rough start and emergency server maintenance, players are finally getting to dive into Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and the heaps of new content Bungie has prepared. Some players are content simply experiencing the massive amount of new content that is available, while others are grinding through the main story in an effort to prepare for the first raid of the expansion, the Garden of Salvation.

For those players who want to clear the raid as soon as possible, some of the brand-new, powerful exotic weapons like the Deathbringer might provide the necessary edge. As always, there is an incentive to push for a first-time clear of the raid to receive the opportunity to acquire special rewards in real life, such as a commemorative jacket themed after the Garden of Salvation. For those of you looking for some extra firepower to help in the upcoming raid on October 15th, here are the steps necessary to acquire Deathbringer.

Charge Morn’s Necklace

To begin the series of events needed to unlock the weapon, players will first need to fine Eris Morn’s necklace and then find a way to charge it. First, take on the bounty “Lunar Spelunker”, which will see you completing the Lost Sectors and opening the Vault. From here, charging the necklace is done by eliminating Nightmares. Once it has been fully charged it can be turned in to Eris Morn.

Grab A Hive Skull

From here players begin on the main exotic quest line, which is similar to other exotic weapons in that there is a long list of requirements needed to fully unlock a weapon. First players need to acquire a Hive Skull which can be found in the Circle of Bones near the Hellmouth. Turning this into Morn will activate the next part of the quest, but players may want to hold off depending on their overall strength, or rather, lack thereof.

Players should consider doing this after leveling up for a bit or spreading the quest line throughout other activities. This is because as one explores the Moon, they may find that some areas are far more difficult than others, and at a low Power level this can amount to frustration and being stuck without the ability to advance.

Like A Dog With A Bone

The next part of the quest will have players looking for bones found mainly from public events near the Hellmouth. Bones can also be located in the K1 Revelation Lost Sector of Sorrow’s Harbor and, as the name implies, from the Bone Collector. The last of these options is the least consistent because the character spawns around the Anchor of Light in a similar way to other high-value targets: he may not be around for long and will be a frequent target among other groups of players.

Take Out Sulmakta The High Conductor

Inside of the new Shadowkeep strike deep down within the Scarlet Keep, players will need to hunt down and eliminate Sulmakta. As with other high-priority targets, players need to deal any amount of damage to the opponent to receive credit for the kill, otherwise the player will not be counted to have “tagged” Sulmakta. As this is a popular place to explore right now, there are often players exploring the area and it is not hard to find a group that is engaging Sulmakta.

Want Deathbringer? Become Death!

The next step fits the theme of the exotic rocket launcher, as players now need to eliminate standard opponents, elites, bosses, or even other guardians. Although, the required objectives feel a tad morbid, tracking progressing by recording the screams of your enemies. This is a great time to consider doing other quests to level up since the progression will be complimentary between your objectives.

This is especially a good idea because the final part of the quest requires taking down an opponent that has a Power Level of 920, and it may be a good idea to pause the quest line at this point to pursue other activities that will level you up.

Destroy the Deathsinger

The final step to acquire the exotic Deathbringer lies in returning to the Circle of Bones where players must survive the Deathsinger’s Aria and then go on to defeat Ir Airâm. As the Power Level is 920, this is not going to be easy. Like other content, this encounter is timed and serves as a DPS check to weed out those who cannot pump out sufficient damage in the time allowed. One may need to come back or come with a strong group of friends to emerge victorious.

Reap Your Reward, The Deathbringer

Completion of the previous task will award a Singing Skull to bring to Eris Morn. Doing so will award the exotic rocket launcher and will be a welcome addition to any player’s arsenal. The unique property of this weapon lies in its projectile, which is a single orb that is sent towards a group of enemies, and upon detonation, fires numerous smaller orbs to damage all nearby enemies.
