Destiny 2's upcoming expansion will feature a new subclass for your guardian, involving green-colored psychic abilities that will help you to travel through the city of Neomuna. Taking different shapes and forms that will suit your class of choice, this is the fifth subclass added to the game, on top of the already known Solar, Arc, Void, and Stasis.

During the latest Destiny 2 showcase, Bungie shed some light on the upcoming expansion, called Lightfall, and the new subclass this one introduces - Strand. Sporting shiny techniques and equally shiny uses, this new subclass will be inherently tied to our guardian's story through this new chapter in the game.

Today, Bungie's Destiny 2 showcase has shown a fair chunk of information, such as the newest season, the game's future expansion, and the new subclass for the guardians. This new subclass, called Strand, appears during cutscenes weaponized by the different guardian classes and as a tool for them to traverse Neptune's secret city, Neomuna, in a trailer full of action that shows guardians running through this metropolis against Calus' Shadow Legion.

According to the developers, this subclass will be akin to the awakening of a "third eye" for guardians, and it will take different forms depending on which class uses it. For Warlocks, these new powers will be properly telekinetic-based abilities, with the supercharged technique being a barrage of green missiles that will obliterate your foes. Hunters, on the other side, will employ Strand as a proper slashing weapon accompanied by acrobatic movements, with their super sporting an appearance similar to a kyoketsu-shoge, a blade attached to the end of a cord.

Lastly, Titans will turn this newfound energy into two dual-wielded blades attached to their arms and attack in a spiraling, violent motion that fits this bulky class.

However, the most innovative form that the power of Strand will take doesn't precisely rely on its offensive capabilities, but as a grappling hook, a tool that for sure will bring an improvement in mobility for any guardian that desires to travel through Neptune's Neomuna city and its landscape full of skyscrapers, in the upcoming expansion for Destiny 2, Lightfall, arriving next February on PC and consoles.
