Destiny 2's upcoming Season of Dawn will bring a few changes along with it. The current Season of the Undying comes to a close next week and, as such, Bungie has published details on what to expect in their weekly blog post.

Season of Dawn will be accompanied by a patch featuring gameplay tweaks and various other alterations. A raised power cap will be introduced to the game, which should come as great news to players, especially the ones who weren't exactly thrilled about the changes brought about by the Shadowkeep expansion and the ongoing season as it pertains to leveling up.

According to Bungie's post, the inbound 2.7.0 update will raise the Powerful power cap to 960 and the Pinnacle cap to 970. The increase of 10 power is what the boost is set to be this season.

Bungie has also revealed that Fated Engrams will be a thing of the past as they will be merged with standard Exotic Engrams, which will always hand you an Exotic you don't already own moving forward. Your Guardian will be given a random piece of armor specific to its class if you already have everything.

A few of the notes are below:

- Increased the drop rate of the “Scourge of the Past” raid Exotic weapon Anarchy from 5% to 10%

- The Exotic Engram and the Fated Engram have been collapsed into a single new Exotic Engram item

- When opened, it awards a new Exotic if any remain to be collected; otherwise, it contains a random piece of Exotic armor.

The cost of slotting a weapon will go down significantly. As of next week, you'll be able to do so for 500 Glimmer instead of 5,000, while the Gunsmith is set to have a set of rotating bounties on offer. His Field Calibration weekly bounty will also track progress across strikes, Gambit and Crucible.

Changes are also set for Eververse, with the devs poised to make more items available for Bright Dust in the store. Bright Dust will also be awarded for the completion of all weekly and repeatable bounties in Season of Dawn. Bungie is also looking to afford more clarity over which items can be bought in exchange for Silver so players don't go spending money on items they could have gotten for the aforementioned currency.

As part of the update, Escalation Protocol's wave seven chests will no longer require a key and players will only need to finish the wave. The chest will deliver one piece of Escalation Protocol armor until the full set is earned.

Charged Decryption Keys and Key Fragments will also be removed from the game as a result of the above.

The patch will go live after a three-hour maintenance period that starts at 8 am PT on December 10.
