This week's challenges require Guardians to experience previous Sever missions and increase their Gambit Rank. With how much XP is provided by these challenges, anyone looking to finish their Season Pass or increase their Power level will want to complete these. Here are all six of this week's Seasonal Challenges, their rewards, and how best to complete them.

Shocking Forgiveness

Destiny 2 Thundercrash

Shocking Forgiveness: Complete "Sever - Forgiveness" using only an Arc subclass and Arc, Kinetic, or Stasis weapons.

Rewards

  • Opulent Umbral Energy
  • 25,000 XP

Forgiveness is the fourth Sever mission released this season. This challenge requires you to complete Forgiveness with an Arc subclass with Arc, Kinetic, and Stasis weapons only. Arc hasn't received the 3.0 treatment yet, so expect your Guardian to be a little weaker than usual while doing this challenge.

Some subclass recommendations:

  • Hunter: Top Tree Arcstrider allows you to constantly punch and dodge, dealing heavy damage to anyone you hit.
  • Warlock: Middle Tree Stormcaller has great ability uptime thanks to Ionic Traces. Chaos Reach is also a good Super if you use Geomag Stabilizers.
  • Titan: Middle Tree Striker has a great melee ability and one of the best DPS Supers in the game, provided you're using Cuirass of the Falling Star.

Vestiges Of Dread III

Destiny 2 Season Of The Haunted Containment Activity

Vestiges of Dread III: Throughout Season of the Haunted, collect Vestiges of Dread and pick up material nodes on the Derelict Leviathan.

Reward

  • 50,000 XP

This challenge is retroactive.

This challenge requires you to obtain 25,000 Vestiges of Dread and harvest 80 material nodes aboard the Derelict Leviathan. Thankfully, this challenge is retroactive, meaning all Vestiges and materials you've collected this season will count.

If you haven't collected enough Vestiges of Dread, you'll want to farm Nightmare Containment to spend as much of this resource as possible. Opening side chests and collecting resource nodes will ensure you never run out of Vestiges. As for the resource nodes, utilize tracker mods on your Ghost Shell to mark all resources on your HUD.

Umbral Focusing III

destiny 2 crown of sorrow vendor

Umbral Focusing III: Focus equipment at the Crown of Sorrow throughout the season.

Reward

  • 50,000 XP

This challenge is retroactive.

Umbral Focusing III is a continuation of previous Umbral Focusing challenges. This challenge asks you to use the Umbral Focusing system to obtain ten weapons and eight armor pieces from the Crown of Sorrow. Both the Haunted and Opulent gear provided by the Crown will count towards this challenge. If you can, unlock the top and bottom rows of the Crown's progression system to get some easy Deepsight weapons during this process. For armor, be sure you equip armor focusing mods on your Ghost Shell to min-max the armor stats you get.

Pinnacle

Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted Season Pass Armor

Pinnacle: Reach Power Level 1,570 by earning Pinnacle rewards.

Rewards

  • 100,000 XP
  • 300 Bright Dust

This challenge is retroactive.

Season of the Haunted's pinnacle cap is 1,570. You'll need to complete various Pinnacle Gear sources to achieve this value; Artifact Power does not count. If you need to hit this value quickly, we recommend completing the Vow of the Discipline raid and Duality dungeon first. Afterward, focus on completing weekly playlist challenges to round out your Power level. For more details on how to increase your character's Power, consult our Power leveling guide.

Widepoint Calibration

Destiny 2 Wavesplitter

Widepoint Calibration: Calibrate Trace Rifles and Shotguns. Bonus progress for rapidly defeating targets and defeating Guardians.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

Widepoint Calibration requires you to defeat 180 enemies with either Trace Rifles or Shotguns. Multikills and Guardians grant additional progress. Consider last week's Beam Cannon challenge requires you to get Trace Rifle and Shotgun kills in Gambit, we recommend doing this in Gambit to kill two birds with one stone. If you've already completed that challenge, farming Lost Sectors on Europa or the Throne World should finish this challenge in just a few runs.

Gambit Ornament

Destiny 2 Chain of Command Insubordination Ornament

Gambit Ornament: Acquire the Gambit ornament for Chain of Command.

Rewards

  • 100,000 XP
  • 300 Bright Dust

This challenge is retroactive.

You'll need to reset your rank with the Drifter and reach rank 16 once again to unlock Chain of Command's Gambit ornament. It's best to attempt this during a double Infamy week. Beyond that, get a team together and play as many consecutive matches as possible. Check out our Infamy guide for more information on how Gambit Ranks work, and give our Chain of Command guide a look if you're interested in getting Chain of Command's other ornaments.
