Every Destiny 2 season comes with a plethora of new content for players to delve into. A new seasonal activity, quests, and Exotics are enough to keep most Destiny fans busy for weeks on end. Each season also comes with a new Artifact, giving players a means of increasing their Power level.

These Artifacts also come with a grid of powerful mods that players can unlock. Some of these mods rival Exotics in terms of raw power, ranging from debuffing targets with grenades to gaining Super energy from Super kills. If you want to create the strongest builds in Destiny 2, you'll want to unlock some of these mods. Let's go over every mod that you can find in Season 15's Wayfinder's Compass Artifact.

How To Get The Wayfinder's Compass Artifact

Destiny 2 Wayfinder Compass

The Wayfinder's Compass is obtained upon completing Season of the Lost's opening quest. You're launched into the mission immediately upon logging in. If you left the mission and need to complete it, you can find it under the Dreaming City tab of the Director. Once obtained, any XP you earn will contribute to your Artifact's progress.

As your Artifact gains XP, you'll be able to unlock additional mods in the Artifact. You can only have up to 12 mods unlocked in your Artifact at a time. You can reset the Artifact at any time to change your selection of mods for an escalating Glimmer cost. Artifact XP also increases the Power level of your character.

Anti-Barrier Auto Rifle

Arms

(1 Energy)

Auto Rifles you are wielding fire shield-piercing rounds and stun Barrier Champions. Auto Rifles deal bonus damage against Barrier Champions.

Overload Bow

Unstoppable Pulse Rifle

Arms

(1 Energy)

Aiming down Pulse Rifle sights loads a high-impact burst that stuns unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.

Unstoppable Sidearm

Arms

(1 Energy)

Aiming down sights with any Sidearm you are wielding loads a powerful explosive payload that stuns unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.

Overload Sword

Arms

(6 Energy)

Landing consecutive hits with any Sword you are wielding disrupts combatants, stunning them, delaying energy regeneration and lowering combatant damage output. Strong against Overload Champions.

Our unlock recommendations are:

  • Anti-Barrier Auto Rifle: It's the only Anti-Barrier mod this season.
  • Overload Bow: Explosive Head Bows, along with Le Monarque and Ticuu's Divination, instantly stun Overload Champions.
  • Overload Sword: If your build can handle close-range punishment, Swords are a great option. Grab Passive Guard later in the Artifact to complement this playstyle.

There are two mods that are worth grabbing here:

  1. Passive Guard: Only for Swords users. This grants 50% damage resistance if enemies are near you (think Surrounded range). The DR stacks with Protective Light and other DR sources.
  2. Fusion Scavenger: This is a great way to gain bonus ammo for Fusions and Linear Fusion Rifles.

Wayfinder's Compass: Column Four

Destiny 2 Season 15 Artifact Mod Column 4

Column four is when the Artifact starts getting interesting. A Solar variant of Oppressive Darkness is present, along with an Anti-Champion mod for Fusions and some Stasis-themed mods.

Mod

Slot

(Cost)

Description

Unstoppable Fusion Rifles

Arms

(6 Energy)

Aiming down Fusion Rifle and Linear Fusion Rifle sights loads a high-impact burst that stuns unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.

Withering Heat

Class Item

(6 Energy)

Causing damage with a Solar ability weakens Champions for a short duration.

Resonance Siphon

Class Item

(2 Energy)

Gain Stasis ability energy whenever you or a member of your fireteam stuns a Champion.

Thermoclastic Strike

Class Item

(3 Energy)

Solar and Stasis melees disrupt combatants. Strong against Overload Champions. Refresh your melee ability whenever you or a member of your fireteam stuns an Overload Champion.

Fire And Ice

Elemental Well

(1 Energy)

Defeating a Champion spawns a random array of Solar and Stasis wells.

Nearly everything from this column is good. Grab whatever sounds good for your build. Some notes:

  • Unstoppable Fusion Rifle: Works with Vex Mythoclast and One Thousand Voices.
  • Withering Heat: Effectively Oppressive Darkness for Solar abilities. It only debuffs Champions.
  • Resonance Siphon: Grants grenade, melee, and class ability energy. The energy gained per ability is significant.
  • Thermoclastic Strike: Works well with Revenant's Withering Blades or Dawnblade's Celestial Fire. You gain your entire melee ability when an Overload is stunned.
  • Fire and Ice: Currently only grants one Solar and Stasis well, but this is confirmed to be a bug.

Wayfinder's Compass: Column Five

Destiny 2 Season 15 Artifact Mod Column 5

The Wayfinder's most Exotic effects can be found in the final column. All of them are good picks for one reason or another. Remember, you can only grab two of these.

Mod

Slot

(Cost)

Description

Well Of Potency

Elemental Well

(5 Energy)

Picking up a matching elemental well grants you Super energy.

Pyretic Embrace

Class Item

(4 Energy)

Casting a Solar Super restores you to full health and shields.

Thermoclastic Blooming

Arms

(2 Energy)

Defeating a combatant with a Solar or Stasis melee creates an Orb of Power.

Focusing Lens

Class Item

(3 Energy)

Your Light abilities do bonus damage to combatants affected by Stasis.

Particle Deconstruction

Class Item

(7 Energy)

Dealing damage to a combatant with a Fusion Rifle or Linear Fusion Rifle grants bonus damage with Fusion and Linear Fusion Rifles against that combatant for a short duration. Stacks up to 5 times.

Here's how each mod works:

  • Well of Potency: Grants a small amount of Super energy on grabbing an Elemental Well.
    • This will pair exceptionally well with the new Elemental Shards mod, allowing you to gain Super energy from Stasis Shards.
    • Unknown if this combo works in PvP—as this requires Elemental Shards to release, which should occur later in the season.
  • Pyretic Embrace: Fully restores your health and shields when casting your Solar Super.
    • Works in PvP.
  • Thermoclastic Blooming: Unlike Thermal Blooming from Beyond Light's Artifact, this doesn't specify "for your fireteam," meaning it should spawn Orbs for you to grab.
  • Focusing Lens: Causes enemies affected by Stasis to take 25% more damage from Light abilities. If you frequently raid or play GM Nightfalls, this mod is a must. There are two reasons why this mod is so good:
    • It buffs all damage done while in a Well of Radiance.
    • It stacks with other buffs and debuffs.
  • Particle Deconstruction: Fusion Rifles and Linear Fusion Rifles debuff a target by 8% per hit, capping at a 40% damage buff after 5 shots.
    • Only your Fusions and LFRs gain bonus damage from this debuff.
    • This mod stacks with Shadowshot tether (credit to Reddit user u/TheBountyHunted for the find).
      • If you tether an enemy after using Particle Deconstruction, they'll take over 80% increased damage.
