Seasonal Challenges are a great way to earn XP and Bright Dust in Destiny 2. For the first ten weeks of a new season, Bungie releases a weekly set of challenges that, when completed, grant tons of XP and Bright Dust. These challenges are also key for upgrading the H.E.L.M.'s War Table this season.
The second week of challenges focuses on completing content on the Cosmodrome, obtaining the Parasite Grenade Launcher, and defeating Guardians with your Super. We'll go over what each challenge is, how to complete them, and the rewards they grant.
Operation Elbrus: Week 2
Operation Elbrus: Week 2: Complete Week 2 of Operation Elbrus. Also, defeat combatants in PsiOps Battlegrounds. Defeated Champions grant bonus progress.
Rewards
- 12,500 XP
- Insight
Once you've completed the first week of Operation Elbrus, head back to the H.E.L.M. to start the next portion of this quest. With that complete, you'll need to defeat 100 combatants in PsiOps Battlegrounds, Champions granting more progress. This playlist has tons of enemies for you to face, so you shouldn't need to run this more than two or three times to finish this challenge. Run this for your weekly Powerful Gear, then move on to other challenges.
Tug Of War
Tug of War: Defeat a Hive Warden of the Spring and a Scorn Lightflayer in the Wellspring.
Reward
- 50,000 XP
Hive Wardens and Scorn Lightflayers are Wellspring bosses that spawn every other day. Hive Wardens spawn during Wellspring: Attack, while Lightflayers spawn when it's Wellspring: Defend. These Wellspring modes rotate daily, so this challenge will take two days at most to complete.
Weapon Shape I
Weapon Shape I: Craft a weapon using the weapon crafting system.
Reward
- 12,500 XP
The Witch Queen expansion has introduced weapon crafting to Destiny 2, allowing players to harvest weapon resources to create their own god rolls. Check out our weapon crafting guide for more information on how to make weapons. For newcomers, you can actually complete the first Witch Queen campaign mission on an alternate character and create a Glaive for free, completing this challenge. For everyone else, make any weapon that you have the Pattern for.
Run The Worms
Run The Worms: Complete the Exotic quest "Of Queens and Worms" to obtain a new Exotic weapon.
Reward
- 50,000 XP
Upon completing The Witch Queen campaign, you'll unlock the "Of Queens and Worms" quest. This quest is straightforward, albeit a little long. Complete all of the steps to get your hands on the Parasite Exotic Grenade Launcher, completing the quest and this challenge.
Back Home Again
Back Home Again: In the Cosmodrome, earn progress by completing bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.
Rewards
- 25,000 XP
- 75 Bright Dust
By far the fastest way of getting this challenge done is by clearing Lost Sectors. Grab some bounties from Shaw Han, then head to either Cosmodrome Lost Sector. Each takes a minute to clear with a decent weapon. Paired with bounty completions, this challenge should only take a few minutes to complete.
Lost In The Legend
Lost In The Legend: Complete a Lost Sector on Legend or higher.
Rewards
- 25,000 XP
- 75 Bright Dust
You do not have to clear the Lost Sector solo to finish this challenge.
Each day, one Lost Sector is chosen to have a Legend and Master variant. So long as you've cleared that Lost Sector before and have a high enough Power Level, you can clear that Lost Sector on Legend or Master difficulty. Clearing a Legend/Master Lost Sector solo grants a chance of an Exotic armor piece that goes within a certain slot—head, arms, chest, or legs.
For a breakdown of each Lost Sector in Destiny 2, check out our Master Lost Sector guides on our Witch Queen hub page. In general, pay attention to elemental burns, shields, and which Champions are present. Use that info to determine your loadout.
Close-Range Calibration
Close-Range Calibration: Calibrate close-range weapons—Sidearms, Submachine Guns, Shotguns, Glaives, and Swords—in the Cosmodrome. Bonus progress for rapidly defeating combatants.
Rewards
- 25,000 XP
- 75 Bright Dust
While you're farming Lost Sectors for the Back Home Again challenge, be sure you equip an SMG or Shotgun to make some easy progress on this challenge. Lost Sectors have enemies bunched together tightly, so completing this challenge should be extremely easy to do. Just remember to use a close-range weapon to make progress. Kills made in the Cosmodrome's PsiOps Battleground also count.
Bank, Kill, Repeat
Bank, Kill, Repeat: Earn points by banking Motes, defeating Blockers, and defeating Guardians in Gambit.
Rewards
- 25,000 XP
- 75 Bright Dust
For this challenge, you'll want to focus on defeating blockers and Guardians. Blockers grant an immense amount of progress and are quite easy to kill, seeing as how most players tend to ignore blockers. If you're willing to become an Invader, bring a Rocket Launcher with tracking like Gjallarhorn for some easy kills. Beyond that, just remember to bank whenever you can. This challenge will take quite some time to complete, so consider waiting until future Gambit challenges become available before attempting to complete this one.
Flourish Of Power
Flourish Of Power: Defeat Guardians in the Mayhem playlist with Super abilities.
Rewards
- 25,000 XP
- 75 Bright Dust
You'll need 50 Super final blows in Mayhem for this challenge. Mayhem is a rotating Crucible playlist that pops up periodically. Keep your eyes out for the "Next Week in Destiny" posts on log-in to see if Mayhem is coming soon. Thankfully, Supers are incredibly easy to obtain in Mayhem, so let your powers flourish. Roaming Supers tend to do well in this game mode, but any Super will work.
Scorn Pest Control
Scorn Pest Control: Defeat Scorn combatants in Vanguard playlists or strikes. Earn bonus progress for defeating tougher opponents.
Rewards
- 25,000 XP
- 75 Bright Dust
There are two ways to get this done quickly:
- Farm the Birthplace of the Vile strike on Savathun's Throne World.
-
Boot up The Corrupted strike in the Dreaming City, then farm Scorn in the Blind Well.
- This only works when the curse is weak.
If the Dreaming City curse is weak, we highly recommend farming Scorn in the Blind Well to get this done quickly. If Petra is located in The Strand, the curse is weak. Otherwise, simply boot up any strikes with Scorn to farm some kills. The Hollowed Lair is no longer available, so you'll need to make do with Throne World strikes.
