Destiny 2's spring event, The Revelry, is due for kickoff next week and will be available to all players.
Bungie has shared all of the details regarding this upcoming event and it does seem like a fun-filled one as, apart from killing enemies, players will take in amazing views, with flowers, bunny ears and pastels all set to be on show.
Of course, there's plenty up for grabs as well. An exotic kinetic fusion rifle will be made available in exchange for your hard work. And there's a lot more to come from this event, which kicks off on April 16 and ends on May 7.
The Revelry is all about taking a load off (if that makes sense). You're actually encouraged to revel in being alive as well as to break some rules; most of all, though, you're urged to have fun.
Some of us aren't really about having fun, however, we just want powerful gear and other classy loot. So, if you're looking forward to The Revelry for this reason and this reason only, then you've come to the right place.
As mentioned above, there's an opportunity to get your hands on an exotic fusion rifle. It's called the Arbalest; Bungie says it's "the first weapon of its kind" and it serves up extra damage to enemy shields. To get it, you'd have to complete triumphs and hand in Reveler's Essence to Eva Levante.
About that, yeah, things kick off after you have a chat with Eva at The Tower. She will have a new activity for you and some rewards handy when it's completed. She'll give you the Reveler's Tonic on your first visit and it can be filled with Reveler's Essence by killing bosses in the Verdant Forest or by fulfilling other activities. Three different tonics will reduce the cooldown of your grenades, melee or class ability so you simply choose your preferred buff and let loose.
The tonic gets more potent as you add on more pieces of Inaugural Revelry or Vernal Growth and the effects apply to every activity in the game save private matches. Bungie also claims you'll be even more dangerous in the Crucible.
Tonic isn't the only way you'll be able to increase your space magic output. Orbs have the chance of being generated throughout the game though precision kills but they will drop at a higher rate in the Verdant Forest, a place which could remind you of the Haunted Forest from Festival of the Lost, except for the fact that it will be in full bloom and quite aesthetic.
The Revelry's main objective therein is to clear as many rooms as possible in said forest, the more spaces you clear leaves you with more time to defeat five different bosses ahead of claiming your reward. You could head there with a team of your own or the game can make one for you. But you can also go it alone if you prefer operating as a lone wolf.
So back to rewards - The Revelry is filled with those and the novel Inaugural Revelry armor set will be up for grabs. Pieces of this set can be earned by defeating bosses in the Verdant Forest. The more bosses defeated, the bigger your chances of receiving a drop will be. There will also be five weekly bounties from Eva which give Inaugural Revelry armor pieces upon completion.
You can turn in Reveler's Essence obtained from various activities to Eva in exchange for packages inclusive of world drops, Enhancement Cores and ornaments for the Inaugural Revelry helmet. Each ornament will grow in size based on the pieces of Inaugural Revelry or Vernal Growth armor you have equipped.
Bright Engram drops will be doubled too; players at max level will receive both a Bright Engram and a Revelry Engram every time they level up. That's contingent on the content they have access to, though.
A "knock-out" list will also be put in there to prevent you from picking up duplicates until you've gotten all the new items. Below is a preview of some of the items which could be had.
Bungie reports that some exclusive items will be available as part of direct-purchase bundles. One of those is a ghost with furry bunny ears.
If you were wondering whether or not The Revelry is worth your time, it is. If nothing else, though, have fun!
