Destiny 2's pinacle PVP activity Trials Of Osiris has been canceled this weekend thanks to a bug that prevents players from accessing the Lighthouse.

Bungie announced via their Twitter page that Trials has been disabled for the remainder of the weekend and will remain unavailable until the bug can be fixed, suggesting that it's possible Trials may be taking more than a 1-week hiatus. Players that visit Saint-14 to pick up their Trials Passage may find that the store is filled with bounties that can't be claimed, or they mind find that Saint has nothing available to purchase.

The Lighthouse is a reward space that is only available to players that go flawless in Trials, meaning they have won 7 games without taking any losses. There, players will find the Flawless Chest that rewards pinnacle gear.

Of course, the Lighthouse/Flawless Chest aren't the only rewards that can be earned in Trials. Powerful gear is rewarded 3 and 5 wins, and any guardians that manage to win 7 games whether they are flawless or not will earn a pinnacle reward. There are also Trials Token to earn that can be exchanged at the tower for gear. Many players are understandably frustrated that Trials has been canceled entirely given that the Lighthouse bug only affects a small percentage of players. Some would prefer the activity stays open so that tokens can still be farmed.

The weekend Trials of Osiris was added to Destiny 2 for the first during last season. The highly-requested game mode has had its share of issues already. Last month, a bug was introduced that prevented players from collecting their 3rd, 5th, and 7th win rewards. The game mode was not taken offline at the time, however.

The biggest problem facing Trials of Osiris has far and away been the rampant, uncontrollable cheating that, for many, has made the game mode unplayable. This is a problem that all free-to-play games have to deal with, and for this season the solution seems to be introducing a much higher entry requirement in order to slow down cheaters from simply making new Steam accounts and cheating again once they've been banned.

This is a less than ideal start to Season of Arrivals, but hopefully, Trials will be back up next weekend.
