Destiny players are already aware of gear sunsetting, a term that refers to gear having a hard Power infusion cap that cannot be increased. However, Bungie made an announcement recently that they would also be cycling out Destiny 2 content from the game itself.

When Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches, players will no longer have access to Io, Mars, Titan, Mercury, and the Leviathan. This includes any story missions and gear. As a result, many players are trying to decide what items they should farm for during the Season of Arrivals. Here are the 10 most important things players should obtain before they get retired in Destiny 2 this fall.

10 Drang (Baroque)

On the surface, Drang (Baroque) seems like a subpar Sidearm that will be sunset when Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches. However, this weapon is crucial to make Sturm work.

Sturm is an Exotic Hand Cannon that gets overcharged rounds whenever Drang gets a kill. The Baroque variant can not only proc this Exotic perk, but it can also get Disruption Break to apply a massive 50% debuff on targets that had their shield is broken, the largest debuff in the game. Farm this from the Menagerie before it retires.

9 Escalation Protocol Armor

Transmogrification is being added to Destiny 2 sometime during its fourth Year. This feature allows players to make one armor piece have the appearance of another without impacting the item's core stats.

Unlike the current Eververse ornament system, this won't be restricted to cash shop cosmetics. As a result, players want as many armor sets as possible. The Escalation Protocol armor is arguably one of the harder sets to earn, requiring players to complete the final wave of the event at least five times for the full set. Once Mars retires, this set will become unobtainable.

8 Campaign Completion

Destiny has never been known for its campaigns, but they offer an experience that is hard to find in the rest of the game. With the Destiny Content Vault retiring multiple planets, this means that every campaign before Forsaken is about to be removed.

There are no rewards for completing the campaign, but the cinematics and set pieces are some of the coolest moments in Destiny 2. Players who are rusty on Destiny 2's narrative or just want a cinematic campaign to enjoy should play these now before they get removed in the fall.

7 Worldline Zero

Destiny 2 Worldline Zero

Bungie has already confirmed that Exotics tied to vaulted planets will be earnable in some fashion, but their track record for reintroducing gear is spotty at best.

Eriana's Vow, a mandatory weapon in the eyes of many for completing Grandmaster Nightfalls, took 3 seasons to be reintroduced. Worldline Zero might suffer the same fate, so it's best to earn this weapon now. Players must break any 35 Latent Memories on Mars to obtain this weapon, something that shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to do.

6 Hive Mods

Taken, Fallen, and Hive each have faction mods that make fighting them much easier. These include Armament mods that grant Heavy ammo on grenade kill, one of the strongest and arguably overpowered mods in the game.

Since the Leviathan is going away soon, players won't be able to farm for the Hive armor mods in the Menagerie or Crown of Sorrow Raid. These mods will make any future Hive-themed content dramatically easier, so get them now while they're still around.

5 Raid Armor

Unlike most of the items on this list, most Raid items will have a higher Power limit than other items in the game. Unfortunately, most Raids won't be immune to the Destiny Content Vault.

Leviathan, Eater of Worlds, Spire of Stars, and Crown of Sorrow will have all of their gear become unobtainable when Beyond Light launches. While the weapons are somewhat desirable, the inclusion of transmog sometime in Year 4 will add much more value to farming the Raid armor sets for all characters. They are some of the most unique looking armor pieces in the game and should not be skipped.

4 Legend of Acrius

Following the same reasoning as Worldline Zero, the Legend of Acrius could very well be harder to obtain after the fall than it is currently.

Obtaining the Legend of Acrius is incredibly easy. Players simply need to kill Cabal on Nessus then follow a quest that culminates in completing a Levithan Raid. This shouldn't take more than a day and isn't tied to RNG, while the reimplementation of this weapon could be all up to chance.

3 Planetary Armor Sets

Four destinations will be retired soon, which means a ton of armor sets will go with them. Players who want to keep their options open for visual customization in Year 4 should know that it would be best to get these armor sets now.

Players will want to farm the armor sets from Io, Mars, Titan, Mercury, and each Raid set from Leviathan, totaling eight armor sets if you include Mars' Escalation Protocol set.

2 Shadow Title

For the completionist, earning titles can be equally satisfying and demoralizing. Unfortunately, the latter is being pushed rather hard with the removal of the Leviathan area and its activities.

Shadow is a title that requires players to complete a deathless boss kill in Heroic Menagerie for each boss, obtain every item, complete every Crown of Sorrow challenge, and complete a Crown run flawlessly. It's a massive task that needs to be done in the next 100 days before the Leviathan goes away for an indeterminate amount of time.

1 Wayfarer Title

The other title that will be indirectly unobtainable after Beyond Light launches is Wayfarer. This title requires an absurd amount of dedication, requiring players to obtain hundreds of items and clear nearly every Lost Sector and Heroic Adventure from Year 1 planets. Three planets relating to this title are about to be removed, which will make this title impossible to achieve.

Compared to Shadow, the time investment for Wayfarer is significantly higher. Some players who've farmed for this title since Forsaken still don't have it due to poor RNG or missing a single weekly Flashpoint. Players who want to obtain the Wayfarer title need to start immediately or they will be locked out of it for potentially years.
