Destruction AllStars has only been out in the wild for three weeks, but Lucid Games is already gearing up for the future. George Rule, community manager for Lucid Games, recently revealed a short-term roadmap for the title, which includes double XP weekends, new featured playlists, and new Challenge Series.

The first bit of content launches next week, with the addition of Mayhem 8v8 as a featured playlist. Rule then dives into everything you can expect to see up through April – here's the full list:

February

  • Double XP Weekend
  • Genesis’ Challenge Series

March

  • Featured Playlist: Mayhem 8v8 (Playable in a party!**)
  • Featured Playlist: Stockpile 4v4
  • Double XP Weekends
  • Bluefang’s Challenge Series
  • 10 New Skins

April

  • Featured Playlist: Carnado Solo
  • Double XP Weekends
  • A few more surprises…

Challenge Series are the biggest events over the next few months, and Rule offered a deep dive into why these are so important to the team. "Challenge Series offers players the ability to earn valuable skins and cosmetics for the featured AllStars. These items are exclusive to our Challenge Series, with some of them being on par with epic skins available in our backstage area."

Challenge Series consists of many of Destruction AllStars' core game modes, but also introduce five unique experiences:

  • Crash Course: Basic time trials.
  • Break Time: Smash all the Score Crates in the allotted time to win.
  • Transporter: Pick up passengers and drop them off at their destination.
  • Skirmish: Smash more vehicles than your rival.
  • Showdown: Defeat your rival's minions before facing off one on one.

Destruction AllStars is also giving away the Ultimo Barricado's Challenges Series for free – you can check it out in the Challenge Series menu.

The roadmap lays out several smaller changes you'll see as well, including ways the team plans to stay connected with the community and the game's availability on the PlayStation Store for $19.99 on April 6.

Destruction AllStars is expected to receive a year's worth of additional content, so stay tuned for future updates and additions.
