A new Detective Pikachu trailer dropped this week and we got a first look at yet another live-action Pokémon. Gyarados.

Time is quickly ticking away as we inch ever closer to the release of Detective Pikachu, although not quickly enough if you ask us. There is now less than six weeks until the highly anticipated movie is released as it is due to hit the big screen on May 10. At least we still have Avengers: Endgame to tide us over between now and then.

With each passing trailer for Detective Pikachu, we have discovered more and more about the movie. Aside from the revelation that Mewtwo will indeed play a part in the movie, and be a pretty formidable villain from what we can tell, what we are most interested in is which Pokémon will be making cameos. As you will have seen during the longest trailer to date, there are a lot.

And that isn't even all of them. That was proven via another short trailer for the movie that was released this week. While it gave us little in the way of new details, we did get our very first look at what a live-action Gyarados looks like. As you might have guessed and can see for yourself below, the reality of a real-world Gyarados is pretty darn terrifying.

Although the shot of Gyarados is brief, it looks as if it is gearing up to do some damage to Detective Pikachu inside the same arena where the last trailer introduced us to Charizard. However, Pikachu's unlikely ally Tim Goodman gets between them. Probably not a great idea. And anyway, Pikachu is an electric type while Gyarados is a water type, so what's the worry?

Aside from Gyarados, the trailer also shows us Tim being chased up the stairs by a gang of rowdy Aipom, another glimpse at the amusing antics of Mr. Mime, and a very brief shot of what we think might be a Pidgeotto. We are desperately trying to keep up with how many different Pokémon we've seen in the trailer so far but by this point, we think we may have lost count.
