We're just about 30 days away from the release of the next-gen consoles – and all of the benefits that come with them. While some people are rightfully fixated on graphical capability, other innovations associated with the new hardware are just as noteworthy. For starters, decreased load times appear to be better than ever. In fact, we are happy to report that games like Devil May Cry 5 can take as little as four seconds to load on the PS5.

The PS5 has some pretty amazing features. From 3D sound production to the incredible DualSense controllers, games on the PS5 are going to be an entirely different experience than they were on the PS4. While some may think that the Xbox Series X has better hardware specifications, many developers think that you'll be pleasantly surprised with the PS5's performance.

Based on this footage of a playthrough with Devil May Cry on the PS5, we have to agree. A Japanese YouTube channel got their hands on the game (and hardware) and did a 30-minute playthrough. The load time is so fast, it almost seems like Capcom was forced to add a "push-to-start" button for us to finish reading any onscreen information.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to see how quickly the game actually loaded, because the loading bar is covered up by some text here. Nevertheless, just comparing it to the same mission on the PS4, it's obvious that load times are worlds faster on the PS5.

With that kind of speed on a game that wasn't built for the PS5's hardware, you can be fairly certain that loading screens may soon become a thing of the past — something to talk about that will show your age.

Even if we do continue to experience loading screens in the near future, the time that they take up in our lives won't be anything like we're used to. Our mindless scrolling through social media may take a hit, but uninterrupted gameplay is an appealing counterbalance.
