In Digimon Card Game, side sets like EX3 – Draconic Roar are usually a collector's dream. These side sets always include more alternate art versions of cards than their main set counterparts.

The alternate art version of the cards is usually considered the highest rarity of the card you can get in a regular booster pack too. Maxing out a deck in rarity is a popular activity for a lot of collectors, but it comes with a hefty price. Here are the most valuable cards from EX3 – Dragon Roar, using market prices from TCGPlayer.

10 Metallicdramon (Alternate Art) - $14.96

With the introduction of the Dragon Links deck, both of Hina Kurihara's partner Digimon are given an alternate art version of their cards in Draconic Roar. Since both Metallicdramon and Volcanicdramon are so closely tied to Hina, their art features the Dragons next to their friend.

It's a cute touch, since Digimon tends to have a reputation of close pairs of human and Digimon, but there haven't been too many cards that feature both the Digimon and their partners so far.

9 Chaosdramon (Alternate Art) - $16.00

Chaosdramon is already a fan favorite Digimon, so this card being a highly sought-after card isn't surprising. This card is fantastic. Not only does Chaosdramon look powerful but the subtle detail of including the silhouettes of Cyborg Digimon that you can use for Chaosdramon's effect, like WarGreymon.

Being that EX1's Machinedramon Alternate Art skyrocketed in price after this printing of Chaosdramon was announced, this card is bound to be a collector's dream down the road, whenever the archetype receives even more support.

8 Slayerdramon (Alternate Art) - $16.10

Slayerdramon's design inherently produces great card art. There regular art for this card looks great, but there is something about the fluidity of Slayerdramon rushing in to attack with his scale-covered sword that makes the art in this card looked at fondly by collectors.

Not only is the art in the Slayerdramon card fantastic, but it is one of the two Mega-level Digimon needed for the new Examon deck. The deck is already expensive as it is since, Examon is a Secret Rare, but you have to all out with Slayerdramon.

7 Dracomon (Alternate Art) - $18.24

Rookie cards with alternate art versions are some of the most popular cards. Being the base level of the Digimon Card Game (besides Digi Egg cards), Rookies tend to be the most played cards in almost every deck.

For collectors and players who want to flex on their opponent, Dracomon is the perfect card. Dracomon art is especially cute since it also features Zubamon and Huckmon, the mascots for Digimon's 20th anniversary. Sadly, the other mascot, Ludomon is not featured in the card.

6 Hydramon (Alternate Art) - $26.32

Although Hydramon's alternate art is a bit polarizing with the fanbase at the moment, the fact is that if you want to play a Bloomlordmon deck at max rarity, then this is the card to have.

The card redeems itself by being drawn by koki, a fan-favorite artist in the game and an artist that has garnered quite a following of collectors that purely buy cards based on whether koki's name is attached to it or not.

5 Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode - $27.30

Being a Secret Rare in any Digimon Card Game set automatically pings a certain part of collectors' minds making them start searching for it. Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode is one of the two Secret Rare cards in the set.

Not only is this card already harder to find than most, but Veemon evolution lines will always be fan favorites and this Imperialdramon is the first appearance of the black variant of Imperialdramon, making this card an even sweeter deal.

4 Hina Kurihara (Alternate Art) - $28.72

High rarity Tamer cards are usually relegated to being either Pre-Release stamped cards or box topper promos that are included inside of booster boxes. Bandai introduced its first full art alternate art Tamer with Hina Kurihara, the handler from the mobile-exclusive Digimon Links.

This card is outright beautiful, featuring Hina hanging out with a handful of cute Digimon, including her own Vorvomon, in the Digimon Links farm. Creating this card is the least Bandai could do after shutting down Digimon Links in 2019.

3 Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode (Alternate Art) - $31.58

If being a Secret Rare is reason enough for collectors to fawn over the amazing texture of the card, it would only make sense for the alternate art variant to be even more desirable.

The alternate art version of Imperialdramon features its trademark piercing eyes, but being that this is the black version of Fighter Mode, the mouth on its chest is open and a creepy zig-zagged tongue is sticking out of it. Although a bit spine-chilling, this card perfectly shows the brand-new combination of themes in the red and purple color archetype in the Digimon Card Game.

2 Examon - $43.72

Finally, the last missing Royal Knight is added to the game. Examon's introduction to the Digimon Card Game is well suited to its stature. It quickly became one of the best decks introduced in EX3 and without it introducing its X Antibody variant, Examon will only continue to get better as time goes on, maintaining its high value.

Not only is Examon a very strong Digimon, it is also a must-have for fans who enjoy the Royal Knights as a group.

1 Examon (Alternate Art) - $53.94

The fact that it is the alternate art of the final Royal Knight card in the Digimon Card Game, plus it being a pretty decent deck that can compete against the top-tier decks, makes Examon an amazing card to own. This card is given the title of the most expensive card in the set with good reason. Examon is one of the biggest Digimon in the Digital World, amassing a whole exabyte of data, and this card puts all that data into scale.

Seeing all the dragons, which are normally perceived as these giant creatures, flying around Examon, looking like small canaries, is a sight to behold.
