There are few Digimon more formidable than those that can freely manipulate the elements. Digimon whose entire being is centered around producing or controlling their respective elements to a degree that makes them godlike. Out of the various Digimon with these abilities, none are more dangerous than those that control ice.

When compared to other elemental Digimon, ice-based Digimon are few and far between. However, despite their numbers, each one is capable of holding their own, especially within their home territory. Out of the handful of ice-based Digimon, here are the most well-known ice-using Digimon.

7 Frigimon

Digimon Cyber Sleuth: Frigimon's Victory Pose

When one thinks of ice-based Digimon, Frigimon often comes to mind. As the Digital World's equivalent to Frosty the Snowman, Frigimon is a Digimon made entirely of ice and snow. It has a myriad of ice-based techniques including its Subzero Ice Punch where it lowers the temperature in its hand to the point where a mere graze from the appendage will freeze whatever it touches.

Despite its rather icy disposition, Frigimon is known to have a welcoming and warm personality. It's been noted to take care of sick and injured Digimon and humans alike, as one did with Keenan in Digimon Savers. It dislikes fighting, even though it is more than capable of holding its own in combat, and is fearful of fire-based Digimon like Meramon.

6 Hexeblaumon

Digimon: The Frigid Knight Hexeblaumon

Hexeblaumon is a newer Digimon, and the final form of Digimon's first ice dragon. It's a bipedal knight said to be made entirely out of ice with wings resembling icicles. Its power over ice and snow is so powerful and precise that it can form intricate weapons, tools, and restraints strong enough to subdue and capture some of the strongest Digimon alive.

It's said that, during an ice age that occurred some time during the Digital World's past, Hexeblaumon protected other Digimon from the elements and the various dangers hidden in the snow. Not much is known about this Digimon as, after the ice age, Hexeblaumon was said to have been transferred to another dimension known as Witchelny.

5 IceDevimon

Digimon Tamers: IceDevimon Confronts Rika

Anyone who watched the Tamers knows of the twisted ice devil. While trying to prove its "worthiness" to the tamer's resident redhead, IceDevimon defeated dozens of Digimon, encasing them in ice and decorating its lair with their frozen visages. It even managed to defeat all three of the Digimon's tamers, though Guilmon would later recover and deal the finishing blow against it.

This form of Devimon is said to be born when particularly cruel Devimon digivolves. While its icy attacks are dangerous, this Digimon's greatest weapon is its silver tongue. This Digimon enjoys manipulating others, luring them into lowering their guard before freezing them solid with a single flap from its wings.

4 SnowAgumon

Digimon World: Next Order: Agumon's Polar Cousin

Agumon is by far the most iconic Digimon that the series has created. It's practically the series mascot, much like how Pikachu is Pokemon's, and, like Pikachu, Agumon has a variety of "clones". Many of Agumon's clones are simply redesigns of the beloved orange dinosaur, but there are a few that are completely different types. Once such Digimon is SnowAgumon.

As its name suggests, SnowAgumon is an Agumon variant that uses ice rather than fire as its primary form of attack. It inhabits snowy fields and can almost always be seen playing in the snow like a child. When fighting, SnowAgumon will use its coloration to hide in snowbanks and surprise its opponents with frigid attacks.

3 Daipenmon

Digimon Xros: Daipenmon Enjoys Their Favorite Treat

Despite how this Digimon looks, Daipenmon is actually an Android-type Digimon that resembles a penguin. It wields two massive popsicles in its flippers and regularly dips them in flavored syrup to perform the devastating attacks Purple Plague using the red popsicle known as Lil' Stiffy, and Song of Thunder using the blue Lil' Freezy. By flapping its arms while wielding the popsicles, Daipenmon can fly short distances.

Despite its rather unassuming appearance, this Digimon's power over ice is said to be directly descended from AncientMegatheriumon. Despite this Digimon's power, Gomamon X is said to see Daipenmon as nothing more than its follower, even though the massive penguin often wants nothing to do with the Rookie-level Digimon.

2 Kumamon

Digimon Frontier: The Jolly Snow Bear Kumamon

The Human Spirit of Ice has a rather unassuming appearance when compared to the other Legendary Warriors. With an appearance more akin to a teddy bear, Kumamon doesn't exactly scream "powerful", but don't let its cute look fool you. Kumamon is anything but weak.

Because its body is made entirely of snow, Kumamon can freely manipulate it, even going as far as turning its limbs into razor-sharp icicles that it uses as weapons. Kumamon wields a specialized rocket launcher called Romeo that it uses to fire supercooled snowballs at its enemies. This Digimon rarely acts on its own accord, preferring to follow the orders of others. When not given orders, Kumamon will become depressed and begin to question its worth.

1 MetalGarurumon

Where most machine and machine-like Digimon rely on blasts of electricity and plasma or explosive missiles, MetalGarurumon takes a different approach. While its body is equipped with more weapons than you can count, nearly every one of them is geared toward delivering low-temperature damage.

From its freezing breath to the various missiles hidden within its body, MetalGarurumon prefers freezing its enemies rather than engulfing them in flames. While it can remain stationary and attack from afar, this Digimon can release two beam-shaped wings to close in on a target before it can blink. With the myriad of heat and X-ray sensors that this Digimon has at its disposal, it's nearly impossible to escape this its chilly wrath.
