The Sims franchise has been around for 19 years. The first game was released back in February of 2000. Since then 3 more titles have been published along with numerous expansions, game and stuff packs for each one.

When a franchise has been around such a long time, it's unsurprising that it has a passionate and vocal community behind it. Simmers are known for their love of storytelling, building and of course causing chaos. There is also a huge amount of creativity within the community. Part of this takes the form of custom content and modding.

Over the years a huge amount of modders and custom content creators have made thousands of adaptations to The Sims games. From game-changing mods which affect the way you play, to custom clothes, hair, and items – the community has it all.

Disney lovers are another hugely passionate community and often overlap with simmers. In a world where you can create anything you like,  why not create your favorite Disney characters?

Some of these characters make use of custom content, while others are created entirely with official content. Whichever way they are designed each one is still thoughtful and creative.

Here are 25 of the best Disney characters brought to life in The Sims.

25 Toy Story: Woody, Buzz, Jessie, And Bo Peep

Via officialdannysdomain.weebly.com

These quirky Toy Story characters were created by Danny from Danny’s Domain. He also made and released the outfits as custom content so others can also have fun with Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and Bo Peep in their game as well.

There is a create a Sim video where you can watch him build the characters. You can also download the outfits from his blog, which also has custom content for the Evil Queen and Snow White.

24 The Incredibles: The Parr Family

Via YouTube.com

This recreation of the Parr family from The Incredibles was made by The English Simmer. She has produced a video of her create a sim process, which also includes a link to the amazing incredible suit custom content.

I love the fact that the whole family is represented.

Each character is well thought out and nicely done. If you’ve ever wanted to have a truly incredible family in your game then look no further than this. I just wonder if playing toddler Jack-Jack is as interesting as watching him on screen.

23 Moana: Moana

Via YouTube.com

This stunning recreation of Moana, from the Disney Pixar movie of the same name, was made in The Sims 4 by Neliiah. If you want to see how it was done you can watch her create a Sim process.

In the video you can see how she takes the time to make the basics in create a sim before adding some custom content to more accurately create Moana’s skin tone, eyes and hair.

The result is this beautiful sim which really reflects the character well. All we need now is a new Island Paradise expansion pack, like the one we had for The Sims 3, and she’ll be right at home.

22 Zootopia: Nick And Judy

Via kotori-chama.tumblr.com

These images are from Scales and Feathers, a Tumblr blog by Kotori-chama. While there are more photos on the blog it’s a shame these are just stills because the characters look amazing and I'd love to know how they were created.

Easily recognizable as a sim version of Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootopia the quirky duo are ready to take to the streets as cops. I love the addition of the fox and bunny ears. A great recreation of animals represented as sims, not an easy task to pull off.

21 The Princess And The Frog: Tiana

Via Katverse.com

Here we see Tiana from The Princess And The Frog, brought to life through The Sims 4. You can watch a video of how KatVerse, a simmer and custom content creator, created her. She also has a full list of the custom content used on her blog.

Tiana isn’t as well known as most Disney Princesses so it's great to see her recreated and done so well. The skin tone, dress, and accessories all match perfectly with how she appears in the movie.

20 Up: Carl And Ellie Fredricksen

Via sims-online.com

If you’ve had your heart broken by the opening sequence of Up and wished things could be different then this sim creation by onesneakyfoxi and ErtManchen is for you. It features a young Ellie and Carl Fredrickson ready to set off on an adventure.

It was highlighted in a post on sims-online which showcases it beautifully.

There is also a link to download it from the gallery so you can make your own much less devastating version of the Pixar movie. A must for anyone who wants to play out some in game adventures with this cute couple.

19 Beauty And The Beast: Belle

Via youtube.com

This beautiful Belle is based on Emma Watson in the live action Beauty and the Beast movie. It was created by Sarah Miranda who has made a video of the process.

My favourite part of this one is that the sim is recognizable as Emma Watson.

From the facial expression to the hair, her features were carefully recreated in create a sim. The custom content adds to the effect. This Belle is ready for the ball.

18 Ratatouille: Alfredo Linguini And Colette Totou

Via sims-online.com

Ratatouille is one of my favorite Pixar movies and this sim creation of hapless garbage boy Linguini and head chef Colette is perfection. They were created by vsebesit and are available on The Sims 4 gallery.

I feel like these two would make a great addition to a Dine Out restaurant.

Using only in game create a sim items this couple appear to be made entirely without custom content. A nice touch which makes this creation even more impressive.

17 Pocahontas: Pocahontas

Via youtube.com

This Pocahontas image is a bit different from the others as it’s an edited version of a Sim created in game then exported.

In her video you can see creator Hatsy make the Pocahontas sim which serves as a base for the image. She then puts the screengrab into an editing programme and shows her editing and painting process.

Although not strictly a sim in the purest sense the creativity shown here is awesome and the image striking. A worthy addition to this Disney lineup.

16 Star Wars: Boba Fett, Darth Maul And A Twi'lek

via: Twitter.com

Since Disney now owns Star Wars, I can include these fantastic outfits from The Sims 4 base game. Given away as free downloads to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4th, every Sims 4 player has access to them.

There 7 official Star Wars costumes are currently available.

These include Darth Vadar, Darth Maul and Boba Fett costumes, Princess Leia and Aayla Secura outfits, a rebel flight suit, and a children’s Yoda costume. If you want Sims to go with them, the in-game gallery has too many to count.

15 Sleeping Beauty: Aurora

Via theperksofbeingme-x.blogspot.com

This creation of Aurora from Sleeping Beauty was done by Gina who is a creator and blogger. She has created several Disney Princesses and taken a lot of time to capture their look. Each one has then been carefully rendered into images for her blog.

This image uses custom content to recreate the wavy hair and long pink gown of Aurora’s signature look. I love the way she’s presented the Sim by adding a background with the original character on for you to compare the two.

14 Tangled: Mother Gothel And Rapunzel

via: Twitter.com

This Tangled image was made by Sonya Belka who goes by the Twitter name of @Belkasof. She posted this on the social media platform along with some other images of the two and it really caught my eye.

The Sim creation is absolutely spot on.

Mother Gothel is probably my favorite, although Rapunzel is also very good. The use of custom content with the dresses and hair adds detail and brings these Tangled characters to life.

13 Aladdin: Jasmine

via modelsims4.tumblr.com

This beautiful render of Jasmine from Disney’s Aladdin makes great use of custom content to create an amazing and vibrant sim which perfectly reflects her unique look.

The sim was created by modelsims4 and details of the custom content are available on their Tumblr. You can also find a create a sim video which really helps show the detail and thought which went into creating her.

I love how the use of jewelry adds to her look and means she looks every bit as beautiful as you’d expect. A true princess.

12 Monsters Inc.: Boo

Via youtube.com

When toddlers were introduced to The Sims 4 base game back in January of 2017 there was a rush to create cute toddler sims to play with. For Disney fans, the obvious creation was Boo, the adorable toddler from Monsters Inc.

This cute Boo in her pink t-shirt was created by Unicorn Simz who produced a video of the process.

The best thing about the adorable Boo is that she is created entirely without custom content meaning she’s easier to recreate yourself or download straight from the gallery.

11 Snow White: Snow White

Via modthesims.info

Snow White was the very first Disney Princess. This sim version of her is based on the 1937 movie of the same name, Disney’s first full-length feature film.

Using custom content Mod The Sims user Lowrisim has managed to create a sim which is easily recognizable and glorious to look at.

If you head over to mod the sims you can find out more about the content used and even download the sim for use in your own game.

10 The Little Mermaid 1 And 2: Ursula And Morgana

via thealledgedsimmer.tumblr.com

I love a good villain and this artist has delivered with this creation of Ursula from The Little Mermaid and her sister Morgana from The Little Mermaid 2: Return To The Sea.

Bringing non-human characters to life is always a challenge and it’s really been done well here. The facial features are carefully done and the use of the custom content tentacle dress is a nice touch.

For those who love to see how things come together a video of the process has been made as well as a blog post to detail the custom content used.

9 Disney Descendants: Mal And Evie

via: Youtube.com

Disney Descendants is one of those movies I watched and expected to hate but actually enjoyed. Featuring the descendants of well known Disney characters at school together, this pair consists of the main characters Mal and Evie.

Mal is the daughter of Maleficent and Evie is the daughter of the Evil Queen.

They were created by Koffee who has made a walkthrough video of the custom content she used. She also made Carlos, Jay, Harry, King Benjamin, Uma, and Lonnie. Each one looks incredibly close in appearance to their movie counterpart.

8 Alice In Wonderland: Alice

Via katverse.com

This striking image of Alice from Alice In Wonderland really draws your eye. The sim has been created by Katverse using a wide range of both her own and other creators custom content.

A great example of how to mix and match different styles she’s produced a video to show her creation process.  There is also a list of the custom content on her website.

My favorite touch to this image is the custom create a sim background which makes for an amazing photo.

7 Frozen: Elsa

Via modthesims.info

Here Mod The Sims user CindyM28 has created Elsa from Frozen. On her thread, she also posts an equally lifelike Anna.  Although this image is older than most of the others, being from Sims 3, it is every bit as striking.

Unfortunately, the user doesn’t detail the custom content used or show any links to the sims. However, we can still appreciate the work that went into creating this facial expression, hair, and outfit which perfectly replicate the movie character.

6 Maleficent: Maleficent

Via Pinterest.co.uk

This Maleficent sim is so close to the appearance of Angelina Jolie in the Maleficent movie that I had to double check it was actually a sim. If you look carefully you can see the telltale sims animation beneath the custom content headdress but it’s definitely an amazing match.

While it is credited to AugusteS sadly the rest of the information is sparse for this creation. Google throws up some more images of this and other famous characters in create-a-sim though and one thing’s for sure, the creator has some serious skills.
