Disney Dreamlight Valley has an early access release date. Starting September 6, you'll be able to help your favorite Disney characters recover their lost memories in an all new life simulation adventure game on all major platforms.

News of the early access date comes courtesy of today's Nintendo Direct Mini, which also confirmed Persona 5 Royal's release on the Nintendo Switch. Disney Dreamlight Valley was first announced back in April as an immersive Disney experience full of iconic Disney and Pixar characters like Mickey, Scrooge McDuck, Goofy, and Wall-E, as well as more contemporary characters like Moana and Elsa. Sorry, Encanto fans, Mirabel hasn't shown up in a trailer yet, but developer Gameloft has promised constant updates to add more characters and content, so patience will likely be a virtue.

Dreamlight Valley used to be an idyllic place where every Disney character lived in harmony, but over time a mysterious "forgetting" caused them to lose their memories. That's where you come in. Join the world of Dreamlight Valley, meet everyone you can, and help them regain their lost memories by doing various activities. Today's trailer showed us how to cook with Remy, go ice fishing with Olaf, and dig stuff up from a post-apocalytpic landscape with Wall-E. You can also take a selfie with Ursula, which is probably what most of us will be doing 99% percent of the time.

In addition to helping out your favorite Disney and Pixar characters with their forgotten chores, you'll also be able to make a fully customizable character. Today's Mini Direct showed us a wardrobe that'll let you put on new outfits, including jackets, tops, bottoms, and accessories. The first trailer revealed house customization, including creative landscaping, a customizable layout, and more decorative items than Scrooge McDuck can reasonably keep in his vault.

Disney Dreamlight Valley arrives in early access on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, the Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam. It'll be free to play, so expect some microtransactions. A full release is scheduled sometime in 2023.
