If you grew up watching Disney in the 90s, a classic TV show known as Gargoyles is making a comeback in board game form thanks to Ravensburger. First announced in February, Gargoyles: Awakening is now available for avid tabletop players to dive right into and play – as well as indulge in some nostalgia.

In this board game, you can choose to take on the role of either Goliath, Brooklyn, Broadway, Lexington, Hudson, or NYPD detective Elisa Maza, all main characters from the original series. Each of them has unique abilities you can use to thwart Xantos and Demona – the two main villains of the franchise. There are also four different scenarios you can choose to play out, "Reawakening", "Temptation and Magic", "Information Warfare", as well as one that lets you take on the role of the villains called "Battle with the Steel Clan".

For those who may not be familiar with it, Gargoyles was an epic fantasy drama cartoon series that ran from 1994-1997. It spanned three seasons with a total of 78 episodes. Gargoyles is about a clan of these mythical creatures, led by Goliath, who end up in New York 1000 years later after being turned to stone by a spell. Xantos – the main antagonist of the show – breaks the spell and the Gargoyles find themselves living in a time and place they are quite unfamiliar with.

They befriend local police detective Elisa Maza as they try to adapt to living in more modern times as well as trying to keep their presence unknown to the public. Every episode showcases them helping solve mysteries or problems or deal with enemies from their past and present.

It's not just cartoons getting the board game treatment, as fast food companies like Taco Bell have launched their own game as well as video game franchises such as Rainbow Six. Interested board game enthusiasts can grab the game at Target or their local hobby shop for $29.99.
