Disney's Lion King and Aladdin video games are set to be remastered and released for modern systems this fall.

The entertainment magnates have made quite the sum preying on our nostalgia and, in keeping with the practice that has seen much success, Nighthawk and Digital Eclipse will unveil a Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King on October 29.

The games will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) and won't just be new-age versions of the 16-bit titles. They will both have a modern spin, much like the recent live-action remakes that came out this year.

You will have the option of playing in 1080p, but there are filters that can be applied to give that old-time TV look. And you could have your pick of the platforms, including Genesis, Game Boy, Super Game Boy, with the addition of SNES for The Lion King.

If perhaps you find the titles as challenging as they were when you were a kid, there will be several options at your fingertips placed therein with the sole purpose of making the game easier and helping you beat it. You can save anytime you like, rewind 15 seconds or just let an Interactive Game Viewer do the work until you feel like jumping in. To that end, there are also cheat codes that make you impervious to things that would otherwise leave you dead as well as those that grant infinite lives.

Both of these games have virtual museums that let players in on their development, have them look through artwork, and play soundtracks. Aladdin buyers will also get a 1993 trade show demo that hasn't been available for over 25 years.

Physical copies of these games will go for $30 and could be bought at major outlets such as Amazon, GameStop, Target and Walmart.

The only downer is probably the fact that Will Smith won't be the Genie in Aladdin despite making the recent remake so much fun (probably because he was set free and decided to travel the high seas with his lady and two kids).
