There are two things I love in life, and that's Disney and crossovers. I am a huge fan of Disney movies. I’ve seen them all multiples times, I annoyingly sing along to all the songs and if I learned to throw my voice, I pretty much could play all the characters at once. That might work better if I cloned myself.

Speaking of clones, there's only one franchise I love nearly as much as Disney, and that's Star Wars. Nothing would make me happier than seeing a good old retelling of Disney's classic princesses, but this time as Star Wars characters and totally awesome Jedi knights!

Times have changed quite a bit and we are getting better: we have strong, sassy and brave princesses in Disney movies, and I'm so pleased. But we must admit that most of the classic princesses are a little… dull, to say that nicely. In short, they really aren’t good role models. A good thing about the Internet is that you will always find someone ready to turn all of our favourite characters into something completely different.

What better way to show the world how awesome and strong all these princesses really are, than to turn them into characters from Star Wars? I’m taking you on a spaceship journey through the galaxy! Join me and rediscover your favourite Disney princesses like you’ve never seen them before, whether it is by some amazing fanart or some incredible cosplay!

20 Sith Princesses

via pushfighter.deviantart.com

I just had to start with Sith Elsa, she's just too perfect. First of all, I chose her because the art is amazing, but also because I think she would be as brilliant a Sith as can be.

Her character just fits the emotional Sith theme of the Star Wars saga, and it's easy to see her go toward the Dark Side.

When Frozen came out, you probably had no children in your life, so you watched the movie once and probably loved it. Perhaps you did have children in your life and they played the movie on repeat, and now you’re done with it. I’m part of the second group.

It only made sense for me to try and find a Dark Side version of Elsa. Her song still haunts my every waking moment, and the movie came out years ago so that’s saying something.

19 Hunters Under The Sea

I admire cosplayers’ imagination and creativity so much. They always come up with new ways to not only bring our favourite characters to life, but also to turn them into something evem more awesome than they already were. Some people are just brilliant that way.

Sixteen year-old Ariel has turned into quite the warrior, taking up the mantle of bounty hunter.

First of all, Traci Hines made Ariel wear pants, YES! I’m all for the pretty dresses, but that would be incredibly impractical to fight in, don’t you think? Yes to pants! And second of all, just look at that fierce expression! I sure wouldn’t want to end up in fight with her, the Force is strong in this one.

This is exactly what I would imagine Ariel to look like if she was part of the Star Wars saga.

18 Watch Out!

I personally adore seeing reimagined versions of Disney villains, because we all know they have the most interesting backstories. If only Disney put as much effort in their portrayal and descriptions of heroes, we might be less intrigued by the characters we're supposed to dislike!

You would be hard-pressed to find a more interesting Sith opponent. Ursula has six lightsabers!

Phill-Art is an amazing artist and we totally recommend visiting his page (linked below), since he has a fantastic collection of reimagined Jedi and Sith princesses, some of which are also present on this list. I personally love seeing a new take on Ursula where she looks so fierce, and her costume is so intriguing.

Tentacle legs seems like the greatest idea ever, if she were ever to chase after Ariel on land!

17 Curiouser And Curiouser...

Alice in Wonderland is one of those Disney movies I only came to really enjoy as an adult. For some reason, I never got into it as a kid but I can now easily say it’s one of favourite Disney movies.

Jedi Alice is the great defender of the Mome Raths.

The art here is absolutely stunning. And the details! Have you noticed the metallic hand? Everything about this piece is brilliant and it honestly fits the Alice I remember. She did experience intense things in Wonderland, so it would make sense for her to turn into some sort of warrior in an alternate reality.

After all, Alice not only fought but also defeated the great Jabberwocky in Alice Through the Looking Glass. Why couldn't she fight the Empire as well?

16 This Rebellious Life

Belle was always my favourite Disney princess, until Moana came and stole my heart. I've always been a little nerdy, and I always carry a book around with me. This sometimes made me feel like a weirdo when I was younger. Having a Disney princess I could relate to —someone who loved reading as much as I did and was super clever— always made me feel a lot better about myself.

With this Belle cosplay, there's definitely something there that wasn't there before!

Like many of the old Disney princesses, Belle had potential for greatness, and thanks to some great cosplayers like Elizabeth Rage, she gets to show it off in an awesome crossover cosplay! Again, the attention to detail is incredible. It's hilarious, and it makes so much sense that her lightsaber would be Lumière-shaped!

15 Each Other’s Adversaries

How can I talk about the Queen of Ice without talking about her little sister Anna? One cannot go without the other and, again, their personalities work together so well. No doubt Anna will try to save Elsa’s soul from the Darkness, just like Obi-Wan tried to save Anakin.

No surprise here, Anna is a Jedi. She always knows how to balance her sister out.

What I really love about this piece is that the artist still captures Anna’s lost expression. Even as a Jedi, Anna is still the same optimistic woman she is in Frozen. I can imagine her leaving her Sith sister, with the promise that will come back for her and find a way to bring her back to the Light.

Brave, Hopeful Anna.

14 Smite The Empire

Esmeralda may not be a princess, but she is still one of the most incredible female characters in the classic Disney movies. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is another one of those movies I never fully appreciated until I rewatched it as an adult, when I was able to fully grasp the extent of the story.

If you think about it, it seems logical that Esmeralda would join the Rebel Alliance and fight to free the galaxy.

She's already done that on a smaller scale, after all. Living in a country and a time when bohemians were looked down upon and feared because of their supposed relation to 'witchcraft', Esmeralda was brave enough to stand up and fight. She fought not only for her own people's freedom, but also for every person's right to live their life the way they want.

Pocahontas is actually the one classic Princess who truly is a character of action. She has a strong personality, and not only fights for what she believes in, but also fights for what's right. That's something we should all learn.

Just look at that fierce-looking cosplayer, she's the perfect Pocahontas!

That's what I picture when I think about this character. She would be one heck of a great Jedi knight, that's for sure. And she wouldn't wait around for some guy to come to her rescue.

No, she would rise up to protect the people she loves and the cause she fights for, and it doesn't matter who stands in her way. She will see her fight through and will come out victorious. Don't stand in her way, I'm telling you.

12 I’ll Make A Jedi Out Of You

Mulan already is an accomplished warrior, so being turned into a bounty hunter just proves once more that she is one of the most awesome female characters out there. Who cares is she isn't really a princess? I'm adding her to my list of role models, because she rocks!

After saving China, no doubt she would go on to raid the Galaxy like a Boushh bounty hunter.

This piece of art is gorgeous and it represents everything that Mulan can be. With her delicate and beautiful features, Mulan is also strong and fierce as a renegade and fighter. I was already so proud of her for going to fight in order to save her father, but seeing her as a super cool Star Wars character totally warms my heart.

11 Light-Bow?

If there's one underappreciated Disney princess out there, it's Merida. She's part of the more recent batch of princesses and she is one heck of a young woman. It takes a great deal of courage to participate in the competition for your own hand. And might I add that she's so awesome that she beat all the guys who entered the competition? She literally won her own hand!

This Jedi princess doesn't need any men, but they sure need her.

I fell in love with this pieace of art by Phill-Art, it portrays perfectly what Merida would look like if she were a Jedi Knight. She doesn't need the cool light-bow to be amazing, of course, but we know she'd be one of the best Jedi archers in the whole Star Wars universe.

10 One Day My Sith Will Come

via tannyin.deviantart.com

Let's all say one massive "YES" to Snow White finally switching sides! I don't know why, but I've always hoped that Snow White would turn into her own version of the Evil Queen. Is it really just me?

It might be best for her Prince not come after all, because she doesn't look too happy about it.

The Sith cosplay of Snow White was too good not to include it to this list. Not only is the costume one of the most beautiful and detailed I've seen in my life, it's also an amazing recreation of a piece of art by PushFighter. He also drew Snow White as a Sith Lord as part of another series of Disney princesses as Star Wars characters.

I loved the original art, but this cosplay stole my heart.

9 I See The Force

via ralphsevelius.blogspot.ca

Rapunzel is hands down the cutest Disney princess out there. Come on, who could say no to those giant green eyes and that innocent face? Ok, maybe not so innocent-looking anymore, but still! But she's not just cute, she's also extremely brave.

It takes a huge amount of courage to leave behind the only home you've ever known to follow your dreams.

PushFighter gave us yet another great piece of art with this Jedi Rapunzel drawing. It's such a great idea to have use her magic hair as her lightsaber! After all, we've seen her use her hair for all kinds of things, from tying up poor Eugene to swinging herself above a cliff. Not doubt she would find a way to use it as an actual weapon. Although it's supposed to heal, so I'm not sure it would super effective...

8 Down In Jakku

Can I just wear her costume every day? I know I shouldn't judge others based on what they wear, but this is just perfect and gorgeous. I have zero doubt that that's what Tiana would be wearing if she were a character in Star Wars.

After being turned into a frog and defeating a Voodoo chaman, fighting the Empire will be a piece of cake.

The White-Magician made a series of drawing portraying our favourite Disney Princesses as Jedi Knights and let me tell you, they are all just as amazing as this one. I like to think that Tiana and Naveen would be the new Leia and Han Solo. I feel like both relationships are pretty similar.

7 Sleeping Jedi

What can we say about princess Aurora? She's... pretty? She has a good voice, I'll give her that. I want to say something nice about her, but you have to admit, she isn't of much use in Sleeping Beauty. She just... well, sleeps. That's exactly why I love this cosplay.

No more day dreaming in the forest, it's time to take a stand.

I'm sure Aurora could be so much more than just a pretty girl waiting to be kissed by her prince, if only she was given a fair chance. I love that the cosplayer thought Aurora was more than we were led to believe all these years. Given the opportunity, she would take action! We can totally see her join the fight, instead of falling into obvious traps and waiting around for someone to rescue her.

6 This Is The Boat You Are Looking For

via first1stclass.deviantart.com

I was telling you earlier how Moana stole my heart and became my favourite Disney princess. If you haven't seen the movie, what are you doing with you life? Apart from the gorgeous art, the amazing story and the great songs, Moana is just one of those characters you wish you could meet in real life because she simply is the best.

Without any sailing experience, she boards a boat and sails away just so that she can save her people. Talk about courage.

I need to find myself some Jedi Moana fanfiction, because she is just too good. The girl isn't afraid of facing a demi-god and a giant lava monster, there's no saying what she'll do to Kylo Ren when she finds him.

She will kick his behind right back to the Light side in no time.

5 For A Rebel

via brittanynoelseville.deviantart.com

Remember sweet, young Melody from The Little Mermaid II? She's grown quite a bit since then. She was really naive to believe an octopus-woman could actually turn her into a mermaid, but we have to give some credit for following her dreams as far as she did. And she wasn't afraid to fight to save her parents, in the end.

It seems the whole sea was still too small for Melody, she just had to conquer the stars too!

She resembles a young Princess Leia, who was very strong in the Force. I love that Melody would still fight to protect her loved ones, even though she doesn't have the same powers they have. She would go above and beyond to create the best world for everyone.

4 Princess Lilo And Stitch Skywalker

via silvianart.tumblr.com

This piece of art was too good not to share and I love Lilo. She's an incredibly strong, hot-headed and brave little girl, and this drawing of her as Princess Leia is everything to me. This is by far the best picture I have found for this list.

I want this to be true so much it almost hurts.

I mean, it's all there: Stitch as Luke and Pleakley as C3PO! They'd fit right in with R2D2. What more could you ask for? Beyond the undeniable awesomeness of the drawing, you also have to admit that it could definitely be part of the Star Wars saga.

Lilo is already dealing with aliens, she already went to space and she's one of the most courageous Disney female characters you can find.

3 A Whole New Empire

via hodges-art.deviantart.com

I feel like I keep repeating myself, but what a stunning piece of art, again! Aladdin is on my top 10 list of favourite Disney movies, and Jasmine is definitely one of my preferred Disney princesses. Hodges's art is incredible and again, the attention to detail is fantastic.

Is that an alien version of Rajaah? That's a fantastic rendition of Jasmine's beloved pet!

This Jedi Jasmine drawing makes me think of Padme Amidala, because both she and Jasmine disguise themselves as commoners to escape, and their outfits and weapons look similar. The only difference is that Jasmine disguised herself and left her old life behind for selfish reasons, but she may redeem herself eventually.

I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

2 She Won’t Say

briannacherrygarcia.deviantart.com

Meg went after the god of the Underworld and even fought the Titans to save the love of her life. In the face of all that mythical awesomeness, I somehow doubt there's anything else out there that could scare her.

I also doubt that anything could impress her, for that matter. This girl has lived it all.

She's got such a Mace Windu vibe about her, with all that purple! His character is so underrated that this resemblance fills me with joy. I can just imagine all the cool lightsaber tricks Meg would do if she truly were a Jedi.

All that sass would surely get her into trouble more often than not, but she'd always manage to fight her way out, not matter how tricky the situation.

That's just how awesome she is.

1 Fett-erella

Continuing the trend of amazing bounty hunter princesses, Cinderella too is neither Jedi nor Sith. This is the best Boba Fett-inspired cosplay we've seen on this list. I mean, just look at how freaking amazing this costume is and tell me you wouldn't wish to have the same.

Cinderella no longer needs her fairy godmother to go to the ball, she'll just crash it and walk right up to that prince herself.

Really, I cannot get over how amazing this costume is. It amazes me every day to see so much creativity out there. Some people are just bursting with ideas and I am so glad they get to bring those ideas to life. It must have taken so long to create this costume, but it is so worth it. And again, princesses wearing pants, YES!
