The upcoming Division 2 update will feature new weapons, new missions, and best of all a flashlight!

It’s dark in Washington D.C., and we don’t mean that in a metaphorical way (although you could probably get away with saying that these days). In The Division 2, players don’t have flashlights, which makes it really hard to get around in dark buildings or even just walking around at night.

Players have been asking for a flashlight since the game released back in March. Now, almost four months later, Ubisoft is finally going to deliver salvation: a flashlight attachment for pistols.

But that’s not all. The latest patch for The Division 2, which is first coming to the Player Test Server (PTS) before eventually finding its way to the live game, will have a bunch of new content for players to explore, discover, and kill bad guys with.

The Division 2’s forums outline the changes, fixes, and added content that’s about to drop, starting with new main missions. Both of these are basically boss fights against the Outcasts and the Black Tusks where you’ll be heading to Manning National Zoo and Camp White Oak to get their respective leaders. And by “get” we mean “murder,” and by “murder” we mean “fill with several magazines-worth of bullets.”

Next is a new Expedition which will take players to hitherto unexplored areas of Washington D.C. Expeditions will have new collectibles, treasure rooms, environmental puzzles, and unique boss mechanics to excite both new players and veterans alike.

Two new pieces of exotic gear will be added, including the Diamondback lever-action rifle and the BTSU Exotic Gloves. Both sound like they’ll add some flare to your destructive deeds, while the new Carbine 7 rifle and Stoner LMG will also be interesting finds.

There will be a LARGE rebalancing of the game’s various skills thanks to Ubisoft having completed their assessment of the current meta builds. This will usually result in under-tuned skills getting big buffs to make different builds competitive.

Crafting enhancements, UI improvements, and bug fixes round off the patch notes, which you can explore at your leisure over on the TD2 forums. We don’t know when the patch will drop in-game, but if it’s on the PTS, expect it to be relatively soon.
