The end-of-the-year COVID-19 delays keep on coming - this time affecting the latest Dungeons & Dragons release. Tasha's Cauldron of Everything is on track for its November 17 release in the United States, but shipping delays caused by the pandemic are pushing back its launch in other countries. Wizards of the Coast announced today that the book is now set for December 1 in the EU and APAC (Asia-Pacific) regions.

Tasha's Cauldron of Everything might be the most anticipated D&D product of 2020. While Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden provided a challenging adventure and welcome return to a nostalgic setting, Tasha's gives players and DMs more to play with. Players will get 22 new subclasses, including the debut of the artificer class outside of Eberron. DMs get puzzles that they can copy-paste right into their campaigns. The book will also allow for big changes to character customization right from creation. D&D fans all over the world are waiting to get their hands on the book and all the new toys it offers.

Sadly, a tweet from the official Dungeons & Dragons account confirms that "Due to shipping complications related to COVID-19, the EU and APAC physical release of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything has been delayed to December 1, 2020."

This actually isn't the first time a D&D product has been set back by COVID-19. Back during the summer, in the thick of the pandemic, Wizards had to delay the physical edition of Mythic Odysseys of Theros. The digital version still released on time, however, likely to service the many players who found themselves now playing D&D solely online. As of now, such a physical/digital split has not been announced for Tasha's.

As 2020 comes to a close, we're hearing more and more about COVID-induced delays. World of Warcraft: Shadowlands suffered a delay partly due to the challenges of developing from home, and now will launch close to Thanksgiving. Cyberpunk 2077 just saw another delay as well, pushing it out of Game of the Year 2020 territory. These delays are only going to continue, as the ongoing pandemic forces developers to choose between delay or half-baked release.
