Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is out today for Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Store. The original Doki Doki Literature Club launched in 2017 on PC. You'll explore as the nameless protagonist who is coerced into joining the Literary Club by their lovable childhood best friend, Sayori. Doki Doki prompts you to create poems through minigames, and certain words are used to entice different members of the club to form a romantic relationship with the player. The newer version, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, is not a sequel to the game, but more of an expanded version with new features, such as a music player, concept art, and side stories, which shed light on the character’s tragic backstories.

Plenty of Doki Doki fans were excited about the new release and pre-purchased the game in advance. However, many discovered that there was an issue when attempting to play the game. Some PC players stated that once downloaded, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus was not showing up in their Steam library. Some Switch players lamented that the long awaited literary upgrade would not play at all.

But no need to fear, the snafu was quickly addressed by Dan Salvato, the game’s creator. Salvato stated on his Twitter that the developers, Serenity Forge, were actively working on the issue and it should be resolved soon.
