Doom Eternal has been pushed back from its November release date and is now set to be released sometime in 2020, and the Nintendo Switch port now seems to be lacking any concrete release information.

Doom Eternal is the upcoming sequel to the Doom game that was released in 2016. The game was set to be released on November 22 for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game was also due to be released on that day for Google Stadia, but only those who purchased the Founder's Edition would have access to both the service and Doom Eternal.

The Doom Twitter page recently posted an announcement including some important information about the future of Doom Eternal. The release date of Doom Eternal has been delayed by five months and will now be released on March 20, 2020. The Invasion Mode also won't be in the base game and will instead be added as part of a free update after the game's release.

Fans who were hoping to enjoy Doom Eternal on Nintendo Switch at launch also received some bad news, as the Switch port of the game will be released after the other versions of the game and it currently has no set release date.

There was also an announcement regarding Doom 64, as that has is now a multiplatform release and will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Fans who pre-order Doom Eternal will receive Doom 64 for free and will be able to play it when it's released on November 22.

The news of Doom Eternal being delayed is disappointing but not wholly unexpected. It's more disappointing to hear that the Nintendo Switch version of the game no longer has a release date and that Doom 64 won't be an exclusive title for the system. The delay of Doom Eternal also means that it's being released during one of the busiest months of 2020, which might also be a problem for the game's chances at the marketplace.

Doom Eternal will now be released for Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 20, 2020. The Nintendo Switch port of Doom Eternal will be released at a later date.
