For one reason or another, it appears as if Doom Eternal composer Mick Gordon didn't master the tracks used for the game's official soundtrack release. In a thread that started on Twitter, audio blogger thatACDCguy broke down how the track "BFG Division" showed clear signs of audio compression on Eternal's OST before Gordon came in to explain.

From that exchange, a fan on Reddit allegedly spoke with Gordon about what happened with the soundtrack. According to their exchange, Gordon wasn't impressed with the mastering and has stated he won't be working with id again in the future. This part should be taken with a grain of salt, though, as Gordon hasn't confirmed the validity of that message.

He did, however, speak to PC Gamer and said, "I take a lot of pride in my work. It's all I do, it's all I have and I pour my heart and soul into it." He then noted that he is still trying to understand what happened and has no further comments to add.

If true, this is an incredibly sad state of affairs. Gordon's sound is an integral part of the new DOOM titles and it would be a shame to lose him in the future.
