Dr Disrespect is storming back onto Twitch in style. After his triumphant return from the unfortunate bathroom incident, he has been getting back into character and back into the action. His latest announcement is that he is streaming the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare today.

In a post on Twitter, Doc has announced that he will be streaming from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Gameplay Premiere in LA. The event is set to begin at 10:30am PDT on August 1.

The new game is the sixteenth in the Call of Duty franchise and is serving as a soft reboot for the Modern Warfare sub-series. It will be the first game in the history of the franchise to support cross-platform multiplayer.

No doubt developers Infinity Ward are hoping to entice back players who have turned away from the series over the last few years. Infinity Ward were behind the original Modern Warfare trilogy, so the reboot is certainly in good hands.

Dr Disrespect is just one of a team of streamers who will be attending and broadcasting from the event. Other attendees include Shroud, Myth, Gotaga, Syndicate, Alaanzoka, Kittyplays and Daequan.

While there are some big names on the list, fans of the franchise have been expressing their disappointment that the line up comprises of people who usually stream Apex Legends, PUBG or Fortnite.

This begs the question, which is more important, loyalty or celebrity? A smaller streamer who is loyal to the game may give a fantastic performance but if they have no real reach will they pull in viewers? A larger streamer already has a built in audience and often seeing them do something which is a little outside of their comfort zone can bring in even more.

It remains to be seen if the lineup will pull in the viewers but we don’t have long to wait. The MP Gameplay Premiere begins on August 1 at 10.00am PT and you can tune in on the Call of Duty Twitch channel.
