Dr Disrespect has broken his silence about last year's permanent ban from Twitch, revealing that he is in the process of suing the platform.

It has now been well over a year since Dr Disrespect was permanently banned from Twitch. The popular streamer was kicked from the platform never to return and has since found a home for himself on YouTube. However, the reason for such a severe punishment has never been revealed. Disrespect has barely even mentioned it in the 14 months since he was forced to leave Twitch and his thousands of subscribers behind.

We may now be one very big step closer to finally finding out what happened between the two parties. During a recent stream, Disrespect addressed his ban, noting that he still receives a lot of questions about it. The streamer admitted that he has known the reason why he was banned for months, but he still isn't allowed to talk about it.

However, Disrespect did reveal that he is in the process of suing Twitch for the ban. “Yeah, I do know the reason why now. I’ve known for months now... I’ll just say this right now, champs. There’s a reason why we’re suing the fuck out of them,” Disrespect said. You can check out the full clip below.

Disrespect doesn't go into greater detail than that, but odds are he lost out on a lot of revenue after receiving his ban. The streamer had somewhere just short of 25,000 subscribers on Twitch at the time of his ban. He was gone from the streaming world for a little more than a month after leaving Twitch before announcing he would be returning via YouTube.

Whatever Disrespect did to get himself banned, Twitch clearly isn't over it. Just last month ZLaner was removed from a tournament for hinting that he planned to compete in Disrespect cosplay. Disrespect has been branching out since then as he appears to be starting up his very own gaming studio. The streamer is currently looking for someone to head up the operation and will work with what he calls “mega influencers” to create games.
