Dragon Age 4 might be getting revealed in early December, according to a new tweet.

BioWare really needs a win. Anthem is currently on life support after the Cataclysm update failed to reinvigorate what few players bothered to pick the game up. Mass Effect is dead after Andromeda flopped and failed to meet the expectations of fans. That leaves Dragon Age, BioWare's fantasy set franchise, to keep them solvent.

Otherwise, there's a really good chance that EA will do what they do best and close down the studio.

We know that Dragon Age 4 is in development from tweets as early as 2018. Back then we were told from the game's producers that the new Dragon Age would be story and character-focused, although we weren't given much else as it was still in the very early stages of development.

Reports from last spring say that things are not going smoothly with the game. A Kotaku expose revealed a segmented and erratic development schedule punctuated with abusively long hours and key personnel leaving BioWare because of it.

So should we be excited about Dragon Age 4? So far we don't have much reason to be, but we might be given our first reason on December 4th.

BioWare recently tweeted that they were going to mark the 10th year of Dragon Age with a celebration of sorts. They also REALLY pushed the number four in their message, which seems to be indicative of something.

"Today marks 10 years of Dragon Age! This year we’re excited to join the community’s party on December 4th and celebrate a decade together in the world we all love. See you on 12/4 for Dragon 4ge Day!"

December 4th? Dragon "4ge"? If Dragon Age 4 doesn't get revealed, then it's as sure a sign of BioWare's coming demise as anything.

Even if we get to see Dragon Age 4 on December 4th, don’t expect it to arrive anytime soon. A recent earnings call had EA CFO Blake Jorgensen tell investors not to expect a new Dragon Age game until the fiscal year 2022.
