Dragon Age gives us our fair share of romantic endeavors we wish to have in real life. Though with different personality options to choose from and different routes to take, some of them seem... questionable at best.

Some couple options are predictable and comforting to the heart, while others are just plain annoying and slightly toxic. Here is a list of 5 beloved couples of Dragon Age and 5 of the most irritating.

15 LOVE: Cassandra + Male Inquisitor

Cassandra and Inquisitor are a loved couple mostly because everyone loves and trusts Cassandra herself. Everyone wishes they could romance her, though sadly the game makes it so only a male character can...

Cassandra was by the Inquisitor's side from the very moment the game opened and the story started. She is a beautiful woman who is capable and tough but we all knew there was a soft side in there somewhere. This is an enjoyable couple to watch because we love seeing Cassandra happy and vulnerable out of battle.

14 ANNOYING: Sera + Female Inquisitor

Sera, Sera, Sera... Though we all love and are entertained by her, she is quite annoying on her own. Add a second in command and... Trouble brews. Sera and Inquisitor would be a mischievous couple that goes around Skyhold pantsing people.

Though she can get on the other companion's nerves at times, they appreciate her help in their efforts to seal the breach, but when things are quiet back at Skyhold I have no doubt they steer clear of her. With a partner in crime to run around with, Skyhold is going to need some assistance.

13 LOVE: Cullen + Female Inquisitor

Most people regard the relationship between Cullen and the Inquisitor as boring and predictable but sometimes all people want is a normal, loving relationship that doesn't involve your elf boyfriend breaking up with you and ending the world.

Cullen is a leader and a soldier, but make no mistake that he won't stutter and blush when you hit on him. This pair is one of the best couples in the Dragon Age series because of its predictability and comfortability. The sky may be falling and your body may be killing itself, but at least you have a handsome man to go home to that doesn't pull any tricks.

12 ANNOYING: Dorian + Male Inquisitor

If this couple doesn't scream "On Wednesdays we wear pink." then I don't know which does. Dorian is a sly devil who wears the best fabrics there is and walks with class. There's no doubt the male Inquisitor would walk similarly.

These two most certainly strut around the base in new outfits and laugh over tea, making others feel self-conscious at best. In fact, they probably share tea time with Vivienne and discuss things like the horrid outfit choices of Solas and the smutty affairs of Iron Bull.

11 ANNOYING: Fenris + Hawke

Sad elf number who knows what. This couple is one of the hardest to bear because Fenris (much like other elf boyfriends...) has a lot going on inside his head and that he is actively fighting for that it can get in the way of forming healthy relationships — platonic or romantic.

Though Fenris cannot be blamed for what happened to him, it must be difficult to watch and deal with this couple as bystanders in the party as well as outsiders who romanced someone else. Hawke and Fenris have had their fair share of fights and difficulties that ween on dangerous ultimatums.

9 LOVE: Leliana + Warden

Being a character we have watched grow and change, Leliana is a loved and trustworthy character who has been around for a while. She is an intelligent woman of faith who isn't afraid to stand up for herself or for others.

Leliana and the warden are two people who complete each other, as one doesn't need the other more or less than the other one does. They are both strong and smart in their own ways and, let's face it, we want to hear Leliana sing some more.

8 ANNOYING: Zevran + Warden

Let's be 100% totally real and honest here. Zevran and Warden are the type of couple that make-out in front of their friends and, well, everyone else. Zevran is a sexual demon and any Warden that romances him is just about the same if they have any say in it.

They will charm anyone effortlessly when riding solo, but by each other's side it's non-stop sexual tension that makes the entire party uncomfortable, and possibly makes some of them curious...

6 LOVE: Merrill + Hawke

Merrill and Hawke are one of the most loved couples of Dragon Age because of how sweet and innocent it all is. Merrill is a shy, blushing elf who wants to do what's right for her and her people. Hawke offers her the comfort and support she needs and they come across as an adorable, well-deserved couple.

5 ANNOYING: Solas + Female Inquisitor

These two are by far the most annoying together because they are all you hear about in regards to Dragon Age romancing. Solas and Lavellan have taken the crown of the worst, most heartbreaking romance in all of gaming, if not only in the Dragon Age realm.

Imagine how everyone at Skyhold or in the general vicinity of these two feels. Sera was right in complaining about how Solas always talks like he knows everything. Add Lavellan also theorizing and prophesying things about elves and the Fade in whispers while flirting and touchin' butts. They have to be about the most annoying to watch or listen to.

4 LOVE: Josephine + Inquisitor

Whether Josephine ends up with a male or female Inquisitor of any race in one's playthrough, whoever she does end up with is well worthy. Josephine is a character who is always reliable, sweet and warm to everyone she meets. We could chalk it up to the fact that she is an advisor who knows how to sweet talk, but she can sweet talk her way into our lives all she wants.

Nevertheless, all players want to see a happy ending for Josephine because of her sweet nature. So naturally, this couple is one of the most loved ones. It seems the most genuine and true in love and I think we all want to see Josephine grow old and happy with grandchildren running around.
