First introduced in the book, Dragon Age: Asunder, Cole is a spirit of compassion that has separated itself from the Fade. In many ways, he is like a kid. He is experiencing the world through new eyes and does not understand a lot of its complexities.

In other ways, he is quite supernatural. He can read people's thoughts and emotions and even has the ability to make others forget he ever existed. With all those traits in min, it is no wonder he touches the imagination of many fan artists. Here are ten pieces of Cole fan art.

10 Animal Lover

Due to him being a spirit of compassion, a lot of artists like to draw Cole with animals. It is like he is a Disney princess! Here we have Cole with the classic Dragon Age animals: a nug and mabari, along with a lot of birds.

The art was made by a New York based children's book illustrator, nim-lock. They have also done fan art for The Witcher.

9 Nug Book

Here is another animal-friendly piece with a lot of nugs! Nugs are creatures that are basically mole rabbits. Dwarves eat them, as they mostly give underground. However, they are quite cute!

This piece has Cole reading a book about the Nug King. In the Descent DLC, you can actually meet the Nug King, but it is a little difficult and often requires a walkthrough. The art was made by f3mfatale. They've also done fan art for games like Dishonored.

8 With Bird

Once again, Cole with an animal. Due to being a spirit of compassion, it is believable that birds would sense his gentle soul and not be afraid of him. After all, if you listen to a lot of the talk in Skyhold . . . you may learn that Cole is actually feeding and playing with a lot of the animals like spiders and cats.

This piece was made by Luccorvus. They've also done fan art for games like Dishonored, Fallout, and Overwatch.

7 Armor

According to the artist, Cole dies so much so they drew their Inquisitor slapping more armor on him. Some characters do die way more often than others, and that can frustrate players. Close-range rogues like Cole are especially susceptible to this since they need to be close but also have less health and armor than the tanks like Cassandra and Blackwall.

This fan art was made by Pheberoni. They have a gallery full of other Dragon Age art, so check them out!

6 Underwater

This gorgeous piece was inspired by a quote out of the book, Dragon Age: Asunder, that is said by Cole. The artist shared the quote in the image in description.

It reads, "Sometimes I feel like I’m underwater, and I won’t ever get out again. I just keep sinking and sinking, and there’s no bottom. The darkness is going to swallow me up. I’m falling into the cracks between what’s real and not real, and if I don’t stop myself I’ll be lost there forever." The art was made by Mezamero.

5 Dagger

If Cole does not like your Inquisitor enough, he will leave the Inquisition. Due to his powers, no one will remember him either.

Even if you look up is Codex page, it will say there are no records of a boy named Cole ever existing in the Inquisition. Good attention to detail, and pretty unsettling! The art was made by wehavekookies.

4 Cutiefly

Of course there are crossovers in the fan art world. Pokémon is a very popular franchise for crossover fan art. You can basically cross it over with anything! In this piece, Cole is surrounded by Cutieflys.

The trait of Cutieflys that might attract them to Cole is that they can sense the aura of other living things. So maybe they can always sense Cole, even if he tries to hide. The art was made by mosieran-draws.

3 Post-Trespasser

Cole's fate post-Trespasser DLC depends a lot on your choices. Typically, he is either more human or more spirit. The artist did not say what route this Cole took, but this was their idea of how Cole may look after the Trespasser content. He does seem like the type of guy to never get a haircut!

2 Rogue

Despite his compassion, Cole can fight and is dangerous. If you read Dragon Age: Asunder, then you also would know that he can be frighteningly unpredictable. By Inquisition though, he seems to know himself a little better.

According to the artist, they love his armor. The fan art was made by hisonae. They have also drawn characters from anime franchises like Castlevania and Attack on Titan.

1 Compassion

This piece actually looks like it came straight out of the game or one of its books. However, it is actually fan art! It was made by Dutch artist, lazy-eggzy.

Their gallery also has fan art of Final Fantasy 7 characters and a lot of original characters as well.
