The Dragon Ball franchise has many villains of varying levels of strength. One of the more powerful and memorable enemies is Majin Buu. This pink blob was a constant nuisance for Goku and friends. As per Dragon Ball tradition, this being of villainy came in multiple forms. There was Fat Buu, Kid Buu, Bad Buu, and Super Buu. So many Buus. While each form possesses a unique personality, they are still the same being. Which is why this list will consider all of the powers from the different shapes and sizes of Majin Buu.

Characters from the Dragon Ball series are often quite powerful. They have the ability to destroy mountains and cities with a single energy blast. For someone to be “overpowered”, they have to be a formidable force by Dragon Ball standards. Fortunately for Majin Buu, he is one of the strongest characters Akira Toriyama has ever created. While many others have surpassed him in the new series, Dragon Ball Super, there was a time when Buu was the king. It took a joint effort from all the Z-Fighters to overcome this fearsome foe.

We have compiled 25 reasons why Majin Buu is an overpowered Dragon Ball characters. He has lots of great abilities and exclusive powers that make him a threat to be wary of. Some are better than others, but all of them are important to Buu’s character. As mentioned above, we will consider all of Buu’s forms. Some of them have different abilities which make the character stronger.

25 Stronger Than A Spirit Bomb

via: youtube.com

The Spirit Bomb is the strongest attack in the Dragon Ball franchise. Or it has the potential to be. Goku charges a powerful Spirit Bomb using energy from the Earth and New Namek to defeat Kid Buu. Yet, that wasn't enough.

Kid Buu is not only able to stop the attack, but he actually starts pushing it back towards Goku. The Spirit Bomb alone was not enough to put an end to this dangerous weapon. It was only after Goku's energy was restored that he was finally able to defeat Majin Buu.

24 Absorption

via: dbsworriors.com

Majin Buu can absorb people like Cell, but his version is more effective. Whenever he absorbs a particularly powerful opponent, he gains their abilities and personality traits. His most notable victim is Gotenks and Gohan.

After absorbing those two, he reaches new heights of power beyond anything Dragon Ball has offered before. It took the fusion of Goku and Vegeta to surpass Buu after his absorptions. It's an overpowered ability that gives Buu too much to work with.

23 Instant Transmission

via: dragonball.wikia.com

This is a great technique that Kid Buu learns by copying the Supreme Kai. This version of the technique (also called "Kai-Kai") is more efficient than Goku's Instant Transmission. Kid Buu can travel to any place in the universe without limitation of distance.

In the show, Kid Buu uses this ability to go to the Otherworld, which is Dragon Ball's version of the afterlife. After causing chaos for a few minutes, he teleports back to Goku and Vegeta's location for the final battle.

22 Unpredictable Behaviour

via: superdbzfanon.wikia.com

Even though Kid Buu wasn't the strongest form, he was the most dangerous. It's all down to this unpredictable behavior. According to the Supreme Kai, his lack of a human personality is what makes him the most dangerous form.

Buu is a creature of pure villainy without any sense of reason. He can't feel fear and never flinches. His relentless personality and the destructive tendency is what makes him a fearsome foe.

21 High Levels Of Stamina

via: imdb.com

Majin Buu seems to have limitless levels of stamina. He can keep fighting at full strength for long periods of time without tiring. When Goku and Vegeta are on their last legs, Kid Buu remains fresh and full of energy.

Even his other forms, like Super Buu, are able to fight without tiring. It's possible his body works on a different level to others and he has more energy. This could also be the result of snacking on so many sugary treats all the time.

20 Malleable Body

via: dragonball.wikia.com

Majin Buu's body is extremely elastic and can change shape. This skill is useful in combat as he can reach opponents that are further away. It's also a good way to catch opponents off-guard and sneak in a few extra hits.

However, Buu has other uses for this skill. Namely when he changes his face to that of a popular celebrity to impress some girls. It doesn't work out as planned, but you can't fault the poor guy for trying.

19 Regeneration

via: youtube.com

Being a glorified blob monster has its perks. Buu can regenerate his whole body as long as there is at least a tiny portion of him around. This makes him difficult to defeat since you have to make sure that every ounce of Buu has been disintegrated.

Kid Buu uses this ability to his advantage. He blows up entire planets, including himself. Then, he regenerates and teleports to the next planet. It's a crazy cycle that never ends until Buu is finally satisfied. Or until there's nothing left in the universe.

18 Copy Techniques

via: dragonball.wikia.com

Majin Buu can learn techniques just by looking at them. He is able to copy Goku's Kamehameha Wave after getting hit by one. This is also how he learns Instant Transmission from Supreme Kai.

It's unclear how he is able to learn attacks so quickly. Cell had the DNA of other fighters, which explains his abilities. Well, however, he does it, Majin Buu has the ability to use any technique in the Dragon Ball universe.

17 Planet Destroyer

via: destructoid.com

Many characters in Dragon Ball can destroy planets, but none so efficiently. Kid Buu is able to wipe out several planets within minutes. Kid Buu has the perfect skill set to be a planet-busting machine.

At this point, destroying planets isn't a unique or surprising skill in the Dragon Ball universe. Regardless, Kid Buu remains as one of the best in the business. The cycle of self-destruction, regeneration, and teleportation is unmatched to this day.

16 Candy Beam

via: myanimelist.net

One of Majin Buu's most iconic attacks. He can turn any person into a piece of delectable candy. Eating the treat also increases Buu's power based on the strength of his victim. This isn't limited to candy as he also turned someone into milk.

Super Buu tries this trick against Vegito, however, it doesn't go to plan. Vegito somehow manages to beat Buu as a piece of candy. Even the most broken and overpowered abilities can have their limitations.

15 Paralysis Beam

via: dbsworriors.com

Buu doesn't use this a lot, but it's a useful ability. He can paralyze his foes during combat, leaving them open for a powerful attack. He shoots an electric shock out of his headpiece to shock his opponent.

I'm not sure why Buu doesn't make greater use of this skill. Perhaps he has so many unique powers that he forgets about some of them. That's definitely something that Majin Buu would be capable of doing.

14 Clones

via: dragonball.wikia.com

It makes sense that Buu can split himself up into multiple copies. It's a technique other characters can use. Since the character has to divide their power among the clones, it's not always effective.

For Majin Buu, it's a different story. He's so powerful that even his clones can hold their own in battle. Imagine having three Majin Buu's flying at you with that creepy smile he does. That's one mental image I can live without.

13 Powerful Immune System

via: dragonball.wikia.com

This sounds like an odd entry to the list at first. It makes more sense when you consider the few episodes Goku and Vegeta spend inside Buu's body. They want to free their friends from the inside but things don't go so smoothly.

Buu's insides are full of powerful red and white blood cells that give the Saiyans a hard time. To top it off, Buu creates a version of himself inside his own body. When you're Majin Buu, the best defense is to rely on yourself.

12 Break Through Dimensional Walls

via: youtube.com

During Buu's fight against Gotenks, Piccolo traps all three of the characters inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The idea is that they will remain there for all eternity. Buu was having none of that.

Buu's screams of despair were so strong, he managed to tear open a dimensional hole to return home. It took the combined efforts of Gotenks and Piccolo to match that level of craziness.

11 Self-Destruction

via: youtube.com

Super Buu attempts to use this attack as a surprise move on Gohan. If he didn't catch on when he did, that would've been an early end to Dragon Ball Z. Self-destruction attacks are powerful since the character using it puts everything on the line.

The best part is that Buu can regenerate after using this attack. He can keep blowing himself up without any regard for his personal safety. That might've been a decent strategy during his fight against Vegito.

10 Healing Abilities

via: dragonball.wikia.com

In an act of rare kindness, Majin Buu cures a child's blindness. Buu was hoping that the child would then run in fear but instead made a good friend. He also heals his pet dog after it gets shot by some rogues.

Majin Buu's healing powers are not seen often. I don't see why though because they are clearly very potent. He could probably give Dende a run for his money when it comes to healing. Maybe Buu should be the new guardian of Earth.

9 Telekinesis

via: dragonball.wikia.com

Frieza and Cell can also use telekinesis, but it's not as impressive as when Majin Buu does it. This guy can lift an entire modern city using his telekinetic powers. That would take some extreme brain power to pull off.

This is another power he doesn't use as often as he should. It's possible when his more destructive personality comes out, he forgets about using these types of abilities. Instead, Majin Buu turns into another villain focused only on brute force.

8 Super Breath

via: dragonball.wikia.com

Majin Buu's breath can cause actual tornadoes and wind storms. It's not completely unrealistic when you realize that Buu can keep expanding his body. That being said, it will be interesting to see the limits of this power.

He uses this to cause some mayhem in a nearby city. Perhaps creating tornadoes isn't a viable strategy against Goku. Well, it's still a showcase of how strong Majin Buu can be. The power to create natural disasters should not be looked down upon.

7 Forcefields

via: dragonball.wikia.com

Probably the least useful attack in Majin Buu's arsenal. It's still a powerful technique, just that Majin Buu doesn't need it. Since he can regenerate from most attacks, Buu doesn't need to waste time on defense.

With that being said, he can still use this to protect other people. His master, Babidi, depends on Buu for protection from the Z-Fighters. Later when Buu becomes an ally for Goku, his powerful force fields will no doubt come in handy.

6 Body Part Attacks

via: dragonball.wikia.com

If you thought Majin Buu couldn't get any weirder, then listen to this. He can rip off bits of his body and use them to attack his enemies. He does have a lot of "body" to use for this purpose.

Assuming Majin Buu feels very little pain, this can be useful in battle. He can surprise his opponents by ripping off his arm and throwing it. This technique was crucial during Super Buu's absorption of Gotenks and Piccolo.
