Now, this is a match Dragon Ball fans have wanted to see for some time. Gogeta is on his way to Dragon Ball FighterZ, which means Gogeta vs Vegito battles are coming to a console and/or gaming PC near you soon.

Ensemble fighters really do offer players something special. They tap into something in our brains, something that’s been there since those schoolyard debates about whether Mario could beat Sonic in a fight. Thanks to the Super Smash Bros. series, those battles are no longer only in our imaginations. Seeing Link, Fox McCloud, Mario and Peach going at it in a free-for-all battle is the ultimate fanservice, and Smash has become a phenomenon for it.

With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, though, Sakurai and his tireless team have really dialed things up to eleven. It really is the ultimate mash-up, now featuring everyone from Persona 5’s Joker to Dragon Quest’s Hero. So, your move, Dragon Ball FighterZ. The bar has officially been raised, so how are you going to compete with that?

When it comes to having a huge well of potential fighters to keep adding in, Dragon Ball FighterZ has no issue. It’s a franchise full of weird, wonderful, absurdly powerful characters (what anime isn’t), and it’s up to Arc System Works to take advantage of that by continuing to release more and more.

Needless to say, FighterZ boasts a FighterZ Pass similar to that of Smash. We’re currently on the second iteration of it, and have already seen Jiren, Videl and Goku (GT) join the fray as DLC fighters. Now, it’s trailer time for the next upcoming arrival:

That’s right, friends. Janemba is on the way to the game on August 8, in all his sword-swinging, villainous glory. As you’ll have noticed, though, the clip threw in an extra surprise at the end: Gogeta is also on his way soon.

In the clip, he had little time to do anything more than drop a Kamehameha, so we don’t know anything about how he’s going to play. One thing that is darn sure, however, is that Dragon Ball fans are surely salivating over the dream bouts they’ll be able to set up once he does join the fray.
