The Dragon Ball franchise is huge, there are multiple anime shows/movies, an abundance of manga, and of course, plenty of video games too. While the games were certainly not as important to the growth of the series as the anime and manga, they've still made their mark on the franchise as a whole.

One way the games have impacted the world of Dragon Ball is by introducing completely original characters. Some of these characters eventually got put into the other media (Towa and Mira, for example), whereas others remain solely in the games. The latter ones are who we're talking about in this list as we have come up with ten (eleven as one entry includes a duo) unique video game characters who've never (as of writing) appeared in the anime or the manga.

10 Shallot

Shallot is one of the most important characters on this list as he is the main protagonist in Dragon Ball LegendsAs you may guess from his appearance, he is a Saiyan, albeit one from the distant past.

His strong resemblance to other Saiyans means he's not the most original looking character on the list, yet he's still well designed. Plus, his story of coming from an ancient time into the Dragon Ball Z timeline is a fascinating one, and it would be nice to see an arc like that play out in anime form with Shallot as the lead.

9 Ultimate Tenkaichi Hero

Ultimate Tenkaichi didn't do much to be proud of, but it did include a new hero numerous years before Xenoverse did the same. This character isn't as customizable as the Xenoverse heroes due to the fact he has to be a male Saiyan.

However, he shows more personality as he actually speaks, and he is surprisingly entertaining. Although, that personality won't be seen in the anime, as his customizable look and voice means he'd be hard to move into another piece of media. Plus people don't want a reminder of the sub-par Ultimate Tenkaichi.

8 Barlot

We're only allowing two fusions from Dragon Ball Fusions on this list, otherwise, every entry could've been one due to all the exciting pairings the game came up with. One of the best looking ones is Barlot, which is the father-son combination of Bardock and Goku (Kakarot).

Despite each individual having the exact same hair cut, the developers gave Barlot a longer version of Goku's signature do, and it actually looks good. Equally good-looking is the outfit, which is a surprise, as in Dragon Ball Fusions armor and gi combinations usually look odd. Barlot would look even better in the anime, Bardock just needs a time machine to make it happen.

7 Haru Haru And Shun Shun

For a long time, the different versions of Buu were the only Majin's featured in Dragon Ball games, anime, and manga. However, in recent years more Majins have been introduced, two of them being the twin sisters Haru Haru and Shun Shun, who've appeared in a few games.

This duo is as powerful as they are evil, and are members of the Dark Empire. They both look really awesome, and it's a shame that they haven't had a bigger part to play in the games. The pair could work well as major antagonists in a similar vein to Android 17 and 18 from Trunks' timeline, with the added element of the Majin sisters not always getting along.

*Major spoilers for Dragon Ball Legends in the next entry*

6 Giblet

On the topic of twins, Giblet is the twin brother of Shallot, although these two are very different. Giblet is basically the evil version of Shallot, as he wants to wipe out anyone who he deems weak. He's a ruthless badass, and a bit reminiscent of early Vegeta.

Although, the coolest thing about Giblet is the mystery that surrounds him when he first appears in the game. Initially, nobody knows he's Shallot's twin brother (not even Shallot due to memory loss), and the build-up to the big reveal is very compelling and adds a lot of intrigue to the character.

5 Taino

Anyone who has spent plenty of time in Toki Toki City and/or Conton City in the Xenoverse games will have met Taino. She is one of the few NPC Time Patrollers to stand out. This is partly because she has her own little arc in the first game that started with her being a huge fan of the Ginyu Force, and it eventually leads to the formation of her own group named the Taino Force.

The whole thing is really wholesome, as the group includes the previously prickly Pima who changed his ways due to the kindness of Taino, Ukatz who ignored his preconceptions of the Frieza race to fight alongside Iaas (who was also part of the group), and the bot Thirith who was allowed to join the force despite his lack of fighting ability.

4 Zahha

There have been multiple swordsmen in the Dragon Ball series, from Yajirobe to Trunks to Dabura, Dragon Ball Legends introduced a new one named Zahha. Zahha is a calm and collected magician who fights on the side of good.

His fighting style is what makes him noteworthy as the guy uses two swords in battle, and he doesn't even need to touch them as he uses his magical abilities to control them both. This means Zahha can still fire blasts or throw strikes with his swords sitting beside him. Zahha's unique abilities would make for some very thrilling fights in the anime if he was ever introduced (please make it happen Akira Toriyama).

3 Cellza

Another character from Dragon Ball Fusions (although the image above is from Dokkan Battle as he's in that game too) is the EX Fusion between two of Dragon Ball Z's main antagonists' Cell and Frieza. The combination of the two villains looks incredible, with Cell's altered exoskeleton looking beautiful in purple, as does the mixture of the two villains' faces.

Unlike Barlot, Cellza could easily be introduced in the anime as Frieza is once again amongst the living. He could wish for Cell to come back alive to join him in wiping out the Z warriors, and fusing could be the only way to achieve that. If they trained Cell up to get him to a similar level to what Frieza is in Super, then Cellza would be unstoppable, until Goku comes up with yet another insanely powerful form and defeats them.

2 Sealas

Speaking of villains, Sealas in the main antagonist in Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission. He is a former time patroller who firmly believes in his own twisted idea of justice, and with the help of his A.I buddy Ahms he attempts to rewrite history.

While he doesn't have a unique motivation for a villain, he does have an original look that is certainly intimidating. Also, he is as formidable as he looks, as evidenced in his first appearance when he quickly dispatches of Trunks, yet he has Ahms do a lot of his dirty work for him.

1 Android 21

Despite her relatively recent introduction into Dragon Ball video games, Android 21 is pretty much the poster child for characters who are only in the games. She debuted in FighterZ, but she's also appeared in the likes of Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, yet she still hasn't appeared in any anime or manga. That hasn't stopped her becoming highly popular within the Dragon Ball fan base.

It's easy to see why people like her so much, she is an amazingly powerful female warrior, both of her forms are wonderfully designed, and the compelling narrative of her fighting between her two personalities made her an interesting character.
