Being an open-world game, there are a ton of things to do in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Sadly, if you make too much progress in any particular arc, you'll lose the ability to finish off certain sidequests. Thankfully, the Dragon Ball Z series includes a fair amount of time travel. And you just happen to be friends with the two leading experts in that area, Bulma and her father.

As such, you can use their time machine to travel back to the past. With this, you'll be able to mop up any activities you may have missed and go for 100 percent completion. How exactly do you do this, though? If you're looking for answers, you've stumbled upon the right page!

Updated February 23, 2023 By Ben Jessey: Dragon Ball Z Kakarot might've originally launched back in 2020, but it has now been released on the newest generation of consoles. So, the game is better than ever, which may have prompted you to return to the title.

However, if you've already beaten the main story, there might not be many things to do on the map. Thankfully, the time machine lets you return to previous chapters to experience some of the best moments again. We created this guide to explain how to do that. And now, we've cleaned it up a bit with this update.

How To Unlock The Time Machine And Where To Find It

Thankfully, you don't have to do anything special to unlock the time machine. Once you beat the main story, it will be ready for you to use.

To find it, simply head into West City and find the machine sitting outside Capsule Corp. Either Bulma and Trunks will be next to it or Dr. Briefs will be there. Talk with them to start using it.

How To Use The Time Machine

Once you interact with Dr. Briefs outside the machine, a menu will pop up.

On the said menu are all four chapters of the main story, and when you select one, you get access to the episodes within them. Clicking on any of them will send you directly to the episode.

When entering a chapter from the past, you will keep your stats and items from the present. However, you do lose certain skills, mainly transformations.

When hovering over the episodes in the time machine menu, you can hit the 'check sub stories' button to see the side quests for that particular episode.

If there is a star next to it, that means you've done that sub-story. Those that have nothing next to them are the ones that you haven't completed.

So you can easily see which ones you have left to beat to finish them all, which is one of the main purposes of the machine.
