With a new Accolades trailer released via both Bandai Namco and Sony, the remainder of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's Season Pass has been left relatively open to speculation. Though two of the DLCs are still shrouded in secrecy, the upcoming Battle of the Gods pack has warranted immense excitement and a brief glimpse of what can potentially be expected in future Season Pass content.

Two Powerful Awakenings

Given that Kakarot's first DLC will introduce Goku's Super Saiyan God form alongside the characters of both Beerus and Whis, the followup will assuredly be similar in some aspects. It's still unclear how exactly the new updates will factor into the game, though Bandai Namco did recently clarify that Kakarot's first DLC will be a "Boss Battle Episode." Thus, most fans are left to assume it will mirror the secret encounter with Towa and Mira, merely allowing players to battle Beerus and Whis as Goku and Vegeta with a newly-unlocked Super Saiyan God transformation. Hopefully, the DLC will add a bit more than simply a boss encounter, potentially portraying scenes left out of the show and manga, like Vegeta's ascension to Super Saiyan God.

As for the second episode, mirroring the first's introduction of Beerus and Whis, the most obvious people of interest for an Awakening followup would have to be Zamasu and Goku Black. This way, Bandai Namco can also add Goku and Vegeta's Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms (often abbreviated as SSGSS or Super Saiyan Blue) into Kakarot without muddling the entire experience of the game and keeping content interconnected. There may even be an updated version of Future Trunks along with a Super Saiyan Blue Vegito brought in to spice up the DLC episode, which Bandai addressed would release sometime later this year.

Tournament of Power Story Arc

Debate has been ever-increasing on Reddit as fans ponder if Kakarot will feature any Super DLC. With Beerus and Whis coming in the Spring, in addition to the potential introduction of Zamasu and Goku Black for its second outing, the most obvious story arc that would fit into the missing DLC slot would be Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power. Allowing long-time fans the chance to experience the entire berth of Goku's adult life would be an awesome way to round out the game's lifecycle.

What better way to cap out Goku's legacy than with an all-out bout amongst the various other Dargon Ball universes? Especially if Jiren and Hit are done right in the game, switching between characters mid-battle royale would be as exciting as it would be mindblowing. The exact mechanics of the DLC and the level of detail remains to be seen, but if the first DLC release is anything to go by, a fully-fledged Tournament of Power in-game arc would not only be praised but played to its fullest potential. Just imagine Goku battling Jiren as Vegeta and Topo face-off, with the player's third character being any number of different people.

Bandai could even go to some extreme lengths by making it totally open-ended, with players jumping almost unendingly between various battle scenarios. Players could switch between different sequences, showcasing the Tournament of Power in its fullest degree, going from Gohan's efforts to stave off Dyspo to Android 18's hard-fought stance against Ribranne, then on to Frieza's expert dispatching of Frost. Instead of having only three characters, Bandai could figure out some way to open up the field, giving the player as many options as possible to win the Tournament of Power in their own creative way.

A God-Tier Super Saiyan Season Pass

With no way of knowing what they will all look like in Kakarot, it remains impossible to speculate just how the episodes will work in regards to in-game mechanics. The multitude of still-unanswered questions only fuels fan curiosity. How will the newly-added God-tier Super Saiyan transformations work, especially now that there's a time capsule available? What will the Tournament of Power look like and how will it be accurately portrayed in-game? And, more importantly, does Bandai have more content in store for the future of its Season Pass?

There are some fans still holding out hope that Bandai will release either a GT DLC or even a back-to-basics Dragon Ball iteration. How that could even operate remains unknown, yet if anyone can make it all coalesce with sound clarity and Super Saiyan levels of detail it's CyberConnect2. Avid fans will just have to be patient as the stirring evils of the universe take shape and the Z-warriors experience a period of much-needed time off.

On the horizon is a Season Pass filled to the brim with exciting content, the first of which will be available this Spring. The rest, though still unknown, will be powerful in their own right. Who knows? Maybe even fan favorites, like Broly and Bardock, will make eventual in-game appearances...
