Dragon Quest Treasures is the most recent addition to the storied JRPG franchise. While it is far from a traditional entry into the Dragon Quest series, it is still distinctly tethered to it in a number of immediately obvious ways. From its instantly recognizable sound effects, to its Akira Toriyama-helmed art style; there are plenty of familiar elements for long-time fans.

Most relevant to this article, There is a lot to do in Dragon Quest Treasures, and it is far from being a brief adventure. Of course, a great deal of this content is optional, so the amount of time spent plundering treasures is going to depend a great deal on how much of the game you choose to interact with. Either way, we are happy to break it all down for you here.

How Long Does It Take To Beat Dragon Quest Treasures

Dragon Quest Treasures, Banner Quests, Getting The Three Treasures

According to HowLongToBeat.com, a standard playthrough of Dragon Quest Treasures will take just around 24 hours. However, something worth noting is that completing Dragon Quest Treasures only requires that you complete the ten-part Main Quest. The primary emphasis of these quests will be obtaining the Seven Stones. However, there are six additional categories of quest you can engage in: one of them being the "Adventure Quests".

Dragon Quest Treasures, Shooting The Masquerading Rimeblood

The adventure quests contain eight questlines, some of these could easily take as long to complete as the main quest itself. Completing certain quests requires that you find a number of legendary treasures, something that is purely based on luck. Another quest requires that you track down three specific bosses that randomly appear in different Treasure Dungeons (which, themselves, appear randomly). So, the completion time for a complete playthrough is going to vary depending on how lucky you get. HowLongToBeat's longest run is currently 33 hours and 15 minutes long. It is quite possible that you could chalk that up to the player having poor luck.

How Long Does It Take To Complete Absolutely Everything?

As we indicated earlier, there is a great deal of variance in how long it will take to complete certain tasks. As of the time of writing, there has yet to be a single person who has reported a complete run time on HowLongToBeat. However, from our personal experience, if you want to complete every quest, obtain all 74 monsters, collect all 509 Treasures, gather all 261 pieces of Bric-A-Brac, and get your gang to the max level (20), you are going to be spending close to a hundred hours with Dragon Quest Treasures. This is far from being a short game, and if your end goal is to complete everything, then you may find that Dragon Quest Treasures is just beginning once you complete the main questline.

Personally, I finished with a completion time well over that hundred-hour estimate, but I was also guiding the game, which always requires a much slower approach.
