The people behind Dragon Ball FighterZ might be giving another anime the hardcore fighting game treatment. A recent tweet by a third party site polled fans about what anime they would like to see get the same handling, and FighterZ developer Arc System Works responded to say that it was watching. What exactly this means is a mystery. But at the very least, we know that FighterZ might not be the only game of its kind.

Dragon Ball FighterZ gets a lot of praise for achieving a balance that most licensed games strive for but fail to reach. The details in the art and animation make the game feel like an episode of DBZ, while the game play is fast and furious enough to be a solid fighting game in its own right. This has made it accessible to fans of Dragon Ball who might not be the most skilled players while simultaneously being a rising competitive darling. Naturally, fans of other anime would love to see their favorite characters' flashy attacks get the same technical attention in a game.

Such fans were given a chance to weigh in via a poll hosted on Event Hubs, a website that tracks competitive fighting game statistics and tournament results. The poll asked fans to say what anime they would like to see Arc System Works tackle next. Because there are way too many anime out there to even count, the poll only lists extremely popular titles like Sailor Moon, My Hero Academia, and One Piece. After all, huge anime like those would make the most sense to turn into a game from a financial perspective.

The poll is still ongoing, but as of this article's writing, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is winning, with Bleach as a very close runner-up. Also of note are My Hero Academia, HunterXHunter, and One Piece, which are tightly vying for third. But with a game already coming out this year from a different developer, My Hero Academia seems unlikely.

As for Arc System Work's take on the poll, it had this to say...
