It appears now that The Witcher has found success on Netflix, the floodgates have officially opened, and almost every other week we're hearing about another video game television adaptation in the works. Now, it turns out Netflix is working on another gaming-inspired project, and this time it's based on 1983's Dragon's Lair

Not only will the show be coming to Netflix, but Ryan Reynolds, famously known for portraying Deadpool and Detective Pikachu, will be producing and starring in the project. That's right, Reynolds will be taking on the part of Dirk the Daring, and we're already starting to picture him in that iconic knight's cap and tights.

Dragon's Lair was a pop culture phenomenon in the 80s and 90s, and it was one of the biggest hits of the arcade era. With an iconic animation style that matched the best movies of the time in quality, kids flocked to the arcade to play the game. The franchise sold well when it came to consoles as well, and can even be found today on the Nintendo Switch.

It goes without saying that there are millions out there who will check this show out based on nostalgia alone. We're likely going to see more and more games receive their own TV adaptations, and Netflix seems to be leading that charge better than anyone else.
