Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo is one of the biggest names is game streaming on Youtube, Instagram, and Twich with over 11 million viewers, and now he will be immortalized in a new Limited Edition vinyl figure by LAMO. Fans will be able to bring the character to life through the LAMO mobile app available for both Android and iOS to create an Augmented Reality version of DrLupo into their world.
DrLupo will be joined by Shroud as well, adding to the other LAMO figures already available including Ninja, Lirik, Dr Disrespect, and TimTheTatman. Each figure is unique in that they are created with input from the individual streamers. LAMO is currently planning to release even more of these unique figures in the following months, but have not given any indication as to who might be next.
DrLupo is certainly making waves this week, having announced only recently that he would be committing to the Twitch platform for his content. The announcement also included TimTheTatman and LIRIK. The exclusivity agreement should come as no surprise, as each streaming platform looks to lock down their best streamers or see them taken to a competitor. Ninja and Shroud both moved from Twitch to Mixer, and DisguisedToast moved to Facebook Gaming.
Apart from gaming, DrLupo has been a beacon of wholesome charity in his streams. In June he held a charitable stream of Fortnite with numerous donation level tiers to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In under five hours DrLupo was able to raise nearly $1 million. Although charitable streaming has been happening for some time, DrLupo’s has been the most notable to date thanks in large part to his approachable and inclusive Twitch channel.
Apart from the physical figures that one can collect, the LAMO app can also keep track of a vinyl figure collection, as well preview what characters are coming in the future. DrLupo’s Limited Edition vinyl figure can be ordered through the Play LAMO Shop right now and will be available for $19.95.
