Hidden Path Entertainment studio revealed that it is working on a major project in the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. The studio is known for the Defence Grid series, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and the Witchblood and Brass Tactics VR games.

For now, the studio is hiring specialists to develop an open-world third-person triple-A RPG in a D&D setting. Hidden Path is seeking graphics programmers and technical artists for the new project to ensure it's a “visual experience of the highest quality.” The new game will feature “magic simulations and destruction” with some “weather and environmental effects.” Also, experienced writers are needed for the D&D project to create “meaningful dialogues and story” with branching narratives.

Whitney «Strix» Beltran, who previously worked on Beyond Blue and Raccoon Lagoon, has become the narrative director for the project. She also worked on the tabletop horror-RPG Bluebeard's Bride from Kickstarter, based on Bluebeard's folktale.

Very little is known about the upcoming Hidden Path Dungeons & Dragons game for now as it hasn't been officially unveiled yet. However, the job listing on the studio's website underlines that this will be an ambitious triple-A video game, and it is being developed with Unreal Engine 4. Apparently, the project is still in the early stages of development, so the release will not happen anytime soon.

Even with such humble information regarding the projects, this news should be very exciting for the fans of the D&D franchise. With its emphasis on choices and characters, as well as a deep story in fantasy open-world, Hidden Path`s game can prove to be an intriguing addition to the genre.

The Dungeons & Dragons franchise currently has several games in development. Larian Studios is working on the highly anticipated Baldur's Gate 3, already available through Early Access since October 2020. And Canadian Tuque Games is working on an action-RPG called Dark Alliance, which will be available later in 2021. Koch Media will be physically publishing the game alongside Wizards of the Coast.

There is also a new Dungeons & Dragons movie from Paramount Pictures incoming with a stellar star cast, including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, and Rege-Jean Page. Hugh Grant and Sophia Lillis have joined the project recently. The film is expected for 2022 release date.
