A new audio tale was dropped on the Dying Light official YouTube channel and is now available for your listening pleasure. The new piece is the third Audio Story from the Dying City series, offering a detailed look at the city’s urban legends. This time, one of the survivors tells about a father who has lost his child in the post-apocalyptic world — and it’s a real heartbreaker.

Dying Light’s The City is full of tragedies, many of which have later become tales told by the few who still remember them. Dedrick features some pretty unexpected and dark twists with almost no zombies involved. The main message is that people are capable of doing things far worse than the monsters do. It never gets old.

So, the story revolves around an older gentleman called Dedrick The Bell Ringer, who sends a signal to the survivors when it’s time to hide from the night monsters. The people didn’t know much about him, only that he had a daughter once, who was kidnapped by bandits. As said, Dedrick volunteered to ring the bell because he could see the whole city from the tower and hoped to find his child one day. And he did. If only there was a happy ending to this. With Dying Light 2, you can expect plenty of new nightmares coming not only through the audio logs and scattered letters, but through urban legends, stories from survivors, and even environmental storytelling. Every corner of The City keeps its secrets and tragedies if you are brave enough to experience them on your own.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human has been delayed yet again to the next year — the game is now scheduled to launch on February 4 and will arrive almost two years later than originally expected by the team.
