After the stellar first presentation of the day with Microsoft, a lot of eyes were glued to the livestreams online as E3 2019 continued. The second big conference of the day belonged to Bethesda, the legendary creators of games like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises.

With a lot of focus pre-event on games like Doom: Eternal, the mystery behind the game studio’s presentation loomed heavily over the conference. Now that the conference has ended, it's time to look forward and see what the future of Bethesda has in store for gamers with the ten biggest games presented there.

10 The Elder Scrolls: Blades For Nintendo Switch

The first big surprise came with the announcement of new developments for the online mobile game The Elder Scrolls: Blades. The story set within the Elder Scrolls franchise takes place between games IV and V, and features a playable character as a former member of the Blades, an elite group of spies and bodyguards.

While the game has remained mobile up to this point, the game was announced to be making a major upgrade by adding the game to the Nintendo Switch. This means not only can you play this game on mobile, but through the Switch’s hand-held controls.

9 Fallout 76 Year 2: Wastelanders

One game that has had both good and bad reviews over its first year is none other than Fallout 76, Bethesda’s first attempt at making an online Fallout experience. After working out the launch day glitches and listening to players, Fallout 76 revealed that Year 2 of the game is officially going to launch.

Coming in the Fall 2019 season, the game will bring human NPCs back by popular demand, as well as a new main story quest, new weapons and gear and dialogue branches as requested by the fandom as well. This is a huge turning point for fans.

8 Ghostwire: Tokyo

One of the new games announced by Bethesda and Tango Gameworks is called Ghostwire: Tokyo. The action horror game features a conspiracy in which people are disappearing throughout Tokyo, and players must navigate the city in order to uncover what is happening to the people there.

Players will come face to face with the occult, dangerous spirits and evil conspirators as the city becomes a literal ghost town. The game features some stunning artwork and creepy enemies to face, but the studio emphasized that the game will not be a survival horror game, but instead a fast paced action game.

7 Commander Keen

One of the surprise releases for Bethesda was the reveal of a brand new mobile online game, Commander Keen. Surprisingly this is a modern take on the classic action game from the 90’s developed by id studios. The game follows Billy and Billie, the twin children of the original Commander Keen protagonist who are now tasked with protecting the planet from alien threats.

The game features drag and drop features and exciting new weapons, as well as humorous moments and amazing artwork that brings to mind classic Saturday morning cartoons that fans grew up with, making this truly unique.

6 Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot

One of the more surprising announcements came in the form of Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot. While the game is not necessarily unknown, the surprise came when it was announced that it would be releasing July 2019, in just over a month. This is quite sudden, and makes the Wolfenstein franchise the game series to follow this summer as Wolfenstein: Youngbloods is due out in July.

The game is the first VR experience in the franchise, and follows a resistance member who manages to hack into Nazi made mechs, allowing gamers to fight the Nazi regime in a whole new and exciting way.

5 Wolfenstein: Youngblood

The next big name in Wolfenstein comes in the July 26th release of Wolfenstein: Youngblood. The game takes place 20 years after the events of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Series protagonist B.J. is missing in Nazi occupied France, and his twin daughters must use the skills and training they learned from their father to head into enemy territory and find him before it’s too late.

The game features some incredible gameplay, including brand new weapons and weapons upgrades, as well as the first ever co-op campaign experience for the Wolfenstein franchise. Hunting Nazis is a team effort.

4 DEATHLOOP

One of the surprising hits of the presentation came with Arkane Studios with the announcement of a brand new action first person shooter, DEATHLOOP. The game follows two characters, each stuck in an endless cycle where each wakes up to repeat the same day over and over again when they perish in battle against one another.

One character wants to keep the cycle going, while the other is desperate to end the cycle and escape this endless day once and for all. The action is non-stop, and the artwork and style is gritty and surreal, making this game brilliant.

3 The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr

One of the best cinematic trailers in the presentation for Bethesda had to be The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr. After the cliffhanger ending of the previous update, Elsweyr showed off an incredible battle as a rampaging dragon destroyed everything in its path. Dragons have officially returned to Tamriel, and the Khajiiti homeland is under attack.

The expansion is part of the Season of the Dragon adventure this year, and features necromancer class upgrades which allow players to command armies of the undead. It was an exciting new trailer which promises fans of the Elder Scrolls hours upon hours of fun.

2 Rage 2: Rise Of The Ghosts

After the popular return of the Rage franchise with Rage 2 this year, it was only appropriate that its next big and great expansion pack be included in the presentation at E3. The trailer shown at E3 brought the upcoming expansion pack, Rise of the Ghosts, to light for fans.

The pack will bring a whole new faction to life, as well as new areas to explore, a new mech to control and even new cheat codes to enhance the insanity of the game world. It was a fun and mind-blowing trailer that highlighted the craziness of the game.

1 Doom Eternal

The biggest highlight and best game of the whole presentation had to be Doom: Eternal. The follow-up to the reborn Doom franchise finds the forces of Hell having descended on Earth, having created a nightmare that only the Doom Slayer could control and stop.

The trailer showcased the graphic and action fueled gameplay that only this franchise could bring to life. The game will be released in November 2019, and will feature the new online mode Battlemode, where two players control demons while the others control a Doom Slayer. Oh, and there’s a fantastic collector’s edition coming as well.
