EA has reportedly cancelled an unannounced single-player game set in the shared Titanfall and Apex Legends universe, codenamed Titanfall Legends.Yesterday, EA announced that it was sunsetting Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile, alongside delaying Star Wars Jedi: Survivor by six weeks. As it turns out, the company also cancelled a third title, a single-player game set in the Titanfall universe that had previously been hinted at but never formally announced.Related: Apex Legends’ Hardcore Mode Showed Me I’m Not As Bad As I ThinkAs reported by Bloomberg, the game was codenamed Titanfall Legends (or TFL) and was set to be a single-player game directed by veteran designer Mohammed Alavi, best-known for his work on the first two Modern Warfare titles. Alavi left Respawn in early 2022, although it seems that development on the project continued for some time. When Alavi left the project, sources familiar with the project confirmed that work on it was going to continue and that it was expected to be released by 2025 at the latest.

Bloomberg also reports that a team of 50 Respawn employees were working on the unannounced game, and that EA is searching for positions within the company for them to be moved to. Those who can't be moved will be given severance packages and get laid off, according to those familiar with the game.

EA never formally announced Titanfall Legends, but it did previously confirm that Mohammed Alavi was leading a new game for the studio. Job listings on Respawn's website referred to the game as an "Apex universe FPS incubation project". Although it wasn't confirmed at the time to be Alavi's project, it seems likely that the listings were referring to Titanfall Legends.
