It has been revealed that EA Play 2022 won't be going ahead this year as the publisher is opting to only reveal projects "when the time is right for each of them." EA has multiple projects rumored to be in development and has promised to share updates later this year, but it seems like we'll be waiting until after the summer to find out.First revealed by IGN, EA's decision to cancel EA Play 2022 was apparently because "things aren't lining up to show you everything on one date." This could genuinely be the case as the publisher may shift towards Sony's method of focusing on one game at a time, although a number of publishers have been ducking out of this year's E3 season as the event becomes less and less relevant as the years go by.Related: The Premier League's Poor Refereeing Proves FIFA 23 Needs VARIn fact, it was reported a couple of days ago by industry insider Jeff Grubb that EA had no plans to put on an EA Play event this year, reports that have now been confirmed by EA itself. Grubb also mentions that there will be at least one big publisher that is going to take part in E3's all-digital event this year, although it's currently unknown which publisher this will be.

Reports from earlier this year suggests that EA has plenty of promising titles to announce or release later this year, including a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as well as a new entry in the Need For Speed series. Bioware also recently promised that it would share more details regarding Dragon Age 4 some time this year, although whether it's a new trailer or just a development update is unknown.

We also recently got the announcement that the Dead Space remake is expected to drop at some point in Early 2023. It would be a little odd if we didn't see any further updates on that title since we have so little to go on already, so we'll also likely see some more Dead Space footage later this year as well. As for when, it won't be in the summer, that much is certain now.
