With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on its way this November, gamers and Star Wars fans alike remain excited for the first triple-A mainline Star Wars title in years. While the wait isn't yet over for that, one leak has suggested that at least one new Star Wars game will be heading our way before the financial year of 2022.

According to We Got This Covered, reputable game industry analyst Daniel Ahmad reported EA's alleged future plans and releases for 2020 and beyond.

Ahmad tweeted the following:

As well as a new Battlefield title after the financial year of 2021 and a new Dragon Age game after April 2022, Ahmad mentions that there is a new "Star Wars title in development that should drop prior to end of FY22." In other words, it should drop before the end of April 2022.

Given the reception to EA's Star Wars Battlefront titles, this news could be received either in a negative or positive way. However, it probably hinges more on the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which could either improve EA's reputation as a publisher of Star Wars games or hurt it.

Ahmad's tweet doesn't quite say what the next Star Wars game will entail, however. It could be a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, though this is likely not the case given that the game's performance and quality is unknown as of right now. It could also be another original IP in the vein of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

There's a small likelihood that the game is a third installment in EA's Star Wars Battlefront series, though this seems fairly unlikely given the massive amount of free content EA has released for Star Wars Battlefront 2. Further, the controversy surrounding the second game's release would likely scare the publisher away from putting out a third title.

Beyond this, every BioWare and Star Wars fan's dream is to see a third installment in the Knights of the Old Republic series. This is highly unlikely, given the development of a new Dragon Age game, but a Star Wars fan can certainly dream.
