Ed Boon, the creative director of Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat 11, is appearing at DC FanDome, sparking rumours and theories that Injustice 3 will be revealed later this month.

For context, FanDome is a relatively new, entirely digital event where Warner Bros. unveils upcoming shows, comics, movies, and games related to DC. In the first outing, Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League were revealed alongside concept art for The Flash featuring Michael Keaton's Batman. It was a jam-packed event full of exciting details for the coming years.

However, one game that was absent was Injustice despite many fans believing that a sequel would be unveiled. Since then, developer NetherRealm Studios has announced that it is finished with Mortal Kombat 11, having launched its final DLC and the Ultimate Edition, leading to copious amounts of speculation regarding its next game. There have been leaks abound for a while from the roster to the launch date (2022), but nothing has been officially confirmed. Yet, with Ed Boon's appearance at FanDome, many believe that we'll find out more soon enough.

There are two games so far: Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2. There's even a comic run and an upcoming film. Even if there isn't confirmation of a new game, Injustice is thriving, but leaks allege that the third game will be called Gods Will Fall.

It's not just a title that has supposedly leaked - there are also leaks claiming the roster will be made up of Aquaman, Batman, Beast Boy, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Cheshire, Constantine, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, Joker, King Shark, Lex Luthor, Metallo, Mirror Master, Nekron, Poison Ivy, Ra's al Ghul, Red Tornado, Robin, Supergirl, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Anti-Monitor.

Whether any of these claims come to fruition might be revealed on October 16 at the second DC FanDome event. Or, Ed Boon might have something entirely different up his sleeve. We'll find out shortly.
