eFootball is finally here, and it is kicking off with a couple of events on top of the exhibition matches you will be able to have until its first major update.

After a summer of hype, Konami has finally launched eFootball on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, with its mobile launch coming later this year. The free-to-play game has replaced the long-running football sim series Pro Evolution soccer. It will forgo annual releases like PES and FIFA and will instead be subject to regular updates.

Konami has readily admitted that eFootball will effectively be a demo until its first major update launches later this year. However, it has now revealed that there are more than just exhibition matches available at launch. Starting right now, players can compete in a Worldwide Clubs event and also an online match campaign to earn chance deals.

Even though the exhibition matches will only let you choose from nine full licensed clubs, for the time being, Worldwide Clubs allows you to choose from 200 teams. Choose wisely though, as the team you pick will be the one you have to use throughout the entire event. You will then use that team to complete challenges and earn GP. That GP can't be used until the first major update later this year.

There will be two parts to the Worldwide Clubs event, and you must complete the first part to qualify for the second. You can keep playing matches after completing your challenges, but you will earn less and less GP the more matches you play. The event has already begun and will run until November 8, 2021. That's the same day eFootball's online match campaign will come to an end.

The online match campaign simply requires you to play matches, with chance deals offered up in return. 10 matches will get you one chance deal, playing 15 will get you a second, and complete 20 matches between now and November 8 and you will have three chance deals to cash in. Chance deals can be used in Creative Team, eFootball's answer to FUT, once the mode is added later this year. They guarantee you a legendary player to add to your ranks.
