Eiyuden Chronicle Rising can be beaten in around ten hours if excluding all extras. And if you want to upgrade everything to the max, for all playable characters, you'll need to complete a lot of the optional elements. This is what the endgame is for, to play the remainder of the game to your heart's content, making your team the best version of themselves.

While only offering a short amount of story goodness, much of Eiyuden's highlights are found at its end. Any and all things you haven't yet explored should be done so from this point forward, and we have the perfect places to start.

8 Complete Every Side Quest

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising. CJ attacking an enemy.

Side missions make up much of the game, adding on a few extra hours of playtime, consisting of; shop, residential, and fetch quests. They're introduced early in the game, and it's required to complete at least a few of them if you don't want to be under-leveled during the story. However, because there are so many of them, you won't have played all side missions by the time you're on the final story quest.

After completing Eiyuden Chronicle's story, the first thing to do is to clean up any active side quests. If you're still in the mood for more side missions after, check the bulletin boards for villagers who need assistance.

7 Fill Out Your Stamp Card

There are four stamp cards to complete; Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Black. Filling in every slot will take over 100 stamps, so only playing mainline quests won't do much to max out the cards. Filling out your stamp cards can be done in unison with side quest clean-up as they both go towards the same thing.

They're also a must if you're working towards all achievements since there's an unlockable achievement for every stamp card completion. Kill two birds with one stone by first aiming for side missions and stamp card completion.

6 Max Out All Characters

Why not max out every character's level, weapon, and armor if you're up for grinding through enemies? It'll go a long way to making your super team a powerhouse to be reckoned with. It's also something to keep in mind if you decide to replay the game on the newly unlocked hard difficulty.

Heading to enemy heavy territory is a fantastic way to grind levels. You can coax the game into respawning these enemies by ending the day and returning to the chosen area. Alternatively, play optional portions of the game to help battle the boredom video game grinding often brings.

5 Replay On Hard Difficulty

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, playing on hard mode.

Upon beginning Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, you'll notice a lack of difficulty options. This is because the first run-through of the game is made to be played on standard difficulty. It's only after completing the initial run that you'll unlock a hard mode. Those up for the extra challenge can begin a hard playthrough directly after the first one.

There are no new missions or dialogue upon replaying, though bosses are tougher to defeat, and dodging is a must. Hard mode might not be the thing for you, and if not, that's totally fine. Eiyuden offers a lot more with their endgame experience.

4 Complete No Damage Boss Runs

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising. CJ fighting the first boss.

Although not attached to any achievements, attempting no-damage runs is always a neat challenge to set for yourself. In Eiyuden, it's not ideal for playing the entire game like this, so stick to the bosses and see how many you can complete without taking a single morsel of damage. Recognizing attack patterns and unpredictability are the significant functions to familiarize yourself with, as they're your one solid route for achieving perfect boss runs.

For an even grander challenge, attempt these perfect runs on hard mode, and see if you can beat them on your first try.

3 Unlock Every Achievement

Maybe finishing every side quest, maxing out every character, and exploring every area isn't enough for you. If that's the case, look to the achievements page to see what you have left to unlock. A couple of these are story-specific, requiring to be played on hard mode or directly linked to using facilities for a certain amount of time. None are formidable and may be worth doing, so you can fully complete the game.

Everyone knows the irritating feeling of only needing a couple of extra achievements or trophies to earn top marks and lacking the ability to do so. Don't miss out on achieving this on a game that's actually doable to complete.

2 Catch Some Fish

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, CJ fishing.

Fishing in Eiyuden isn't quite the same as in Stardew Valley, and it's unlikely anything will come close to how enjoyable fishing is in Stardew. It is, however, a time-consuming joy to play. A couple of side quests require you to catch fish, so you won't be a stranger to the mechanics. Just tap the correct buttons at the specified time, and you're good to go.

It seems simple enough, though if you want to be reeling in those max-grade fish, you'll need practice and patience. Fishing may not do much to improve your levels in the game, but it's an amusing little mini-game.

1 Play Other Metroidvanias

Your best bet is to jump right into another Metroidvania to keep the momentum going, this time one of the classics that molded the genre. The obvious choice is the Metroid series. However, if you've already played games of the series, there's a whole host of other genre greats, including; Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, and the Castlevania series.

All of the above examples are excellent places to start, showing the highlights of the genre and the challenge that often plays a leading role. There are Metroidvanias across all platforms, so you won't miss out on the excitement.
