Eksa Gaming might not be a brand name that immediately jumps out at you, but with the goal of providing sensational gaming experience that everyone can enjoy without hurting their wallets, Eksa is a brand that’s worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new and (more importantly) affordable gaming headset.

I had the chance to check out the Eksa E910 5.8GHz Wireless Gaming & Music Headset, as well as the Eksa E900 Pro 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound Gaming Headset. While the two headsets won’t set your audio world on fire, they do perform admirably especially for the price.

EKSA E900 Pro

Starting with my favorite headset of the two, Eksa E900 Pro 7.1 is easy to setup and use right out of the box. It’s a wired headset that is capable of immediate plug-and-play with your favorite device – whether that be PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, or even your smartphone.

The E900 Pro features 7.1 Surround Sound, which creates a more immersive experience while gaming that the E910, which I’ll touch on next. The headset also comes with a detachable mic, which I’m told sounds fine while chatting with my friends online. In terms of the headset’s own audio quality, everything sounds fine. I’m not necessarily blown away by the quality of the audio from an audiophile standpoint, but that’s not really what the E900 Pro – or Eksa, for that matter – is about. The headset is supposed to provide you with a good gaming audio experience at an affordable price. With the headset being $89.99, I’d say it more than meets that standard.

One thing that I do need to mention is that the headset feels like it’s a bit on the smaller side. I have to have the headband fully extended in order for the headset to fit. The memory form earcups are comfortable and fit my head properly, but if you have an above average-sized head, the E900 Pro may be a bit smaller than you’d likely prefer.

EKSA E910

I was admittedly a bit hesitant to use the E910 because of its use of a USB dongle. Given my failed history with other headsets that utilized dongles, I try to avoid them like the plague… er, COVID-19. However, I had no issues using the E910 (and it’s 5.8GHz USB dongle) on my gaming PC.

The wireless component of the E910 works flawlessly, and seems to be better than a typical Bluetooth connection in terms of latency. The E910 also features a 7.1 surround sound chipset that works well with its environmental noise cancellation (ENC) feature. It doesn’t feel like full noise cancellation, but works well enough with the memory foam earcups to keep you immersed while playing games or listening to music.

Similar to the E900 Pro, I have to have the headband fully extended for the headset to fit my head properly. As such, it’s a bit snug, but that also helps the ENC work more effectively. Just keep this in mind if you have an above average-sized head.

Eksa’s E900 Pro and E910 are great entry points into gaming headsets. The ease of setup for both headsets is great if you’re just looking for a good audio experience while you game. While neither headset will necessarily blow you away from the perspective of an audiophile, the price points make these headsets worth checking out.
