Hero Graves are the toughest types of dungeons in Elden Ring. They are usually riddled with giant chariots that can instantly kill you and block your path forward. Each corner has a deadly challenge that you're sure to die to. Like most Soulsbourne games, dying is part of the learning process when it comes to Hero's Graves.

The Easiest Way To Reach The Boss

There is a way to reach the boss without traversing through the entire dungeon. You'd be missing up to around three smaller areas, which will be covered just below this section.

The first thing you want to do is sprint down the ramp, hugging the left wall until you get to the hiding spot on the left. Two skeletons will spawn across from you, but it will take them a while to walk over to you, and they'll probably constantly get run over by the chariot. It's better to run to this left hiding spot instead of the right one because of the skeletons in the way.

To permanently kill skeletons, hit their glowing bones on the floor before they respawn.

Next, you just have to make it to the bridge behind the pillars at the very end of the ramp. It is a safe zone. Once the chariot reaches the top of the ramp, sprint down. When standing in the middle of the bridge, you'll notice a second chariot spawn on the other side, making it seemingly impossible to progress. This is where the shortcut to the boss starts.

Instead of learning how to get past that second chariot, for now, jump down from the bridge.

Death-blight frogs will spawn as you walk around this area, but they should be easy to take down, so long as you don't soak up their death blight attack. A Grave Glovewort (6) can be found in the room. Walking to the plant instantly spawns three frogs around you.

The next room will have a frog hiding in the corner to your left and one on the other side of the room next to a Ghost Glovewort (5).

To your right is a path with a Grave Glovewort (5) and a frog to the right. Don't run through this hall, or you'll get rolled by a chariot. Stand just near the opening on the other side to process what to do next.

  • Stonesword Key
  • Ghost Glovewort (6)

From here, two chariots will be taking turns going up and down the ramp. You can see a glowing item in the middle. This is a Stonesword Key. Where the item is, there is actually an opening you can run into and hide in, where a Ghost Glovewort (6) and a skeleton are. From here or from the original position, you'll want to run across the ramp to a safe zone on the left. It's better to wait for the left lane chariot to reach the top of the ramp and then run.

Note that once you reach the safe zone a melee skeleton will appear, immediately jumping at you, and can stagger you. This will push you out of the safe zone and into the chariot if you let it. When you run to the safe zone, spam dodge rolls past the skeleton. Worry about killing him only after you're safely in the small safe zone.

Once here, carefully peak at your next objective. The next safe zone doesn't look like your usual dip in the wall. It is not as deep and safe as the one you're in now. You can notice it by the skeleton standing across the way. See the photo above for better visuals.

When running to this skeleton, don't try to thread the needle in between the chariots. They will ultimately meet and you will be crushed. Time it for when the left lane chariot goes down and the right lane chariot goes up. It's always in your favor to dodge roll into the safe zone at the last second in case you were a second off of being smushed.

Again, deal with the skeleton only after your face to face with it in the safe zone. If you let it distract you or push you out, the chariots will get you.

  1. Stand in the right-hand corner.
  2. Jump off the ledge where the corpse is.
  3. Drop down the beams.

Here is where it gets the most difficult, but also where you can shorten your time in the dungeon and skip some areas. Past the pillars where the chariots keep stopping, a third chariot will spawn at the top of that next, short ramp. The boss room is directly behind where the third chariot will spawn.

What you want to do here is take a breather at the purple circle in the photo above. When standing at this corner, no chariot can touch you.

From here you have two choices to make. You can make a quick and safe run to the boss and complete the dungeon, or you can explore a little more. To reach the boss, all you have to do is access the doors behind this third chariot. From the right-hand corner, hug the wall and chase the chariot once it goes up. There will be another safe dip in the wall midway. Wait for the right moment and run to the door. When opening the door, you will be out of harm's way.

Past this door will be a Statue of Marika, three skeletons deeper inside, and then the boss fog wall.

Crucible Knight And Crucible Knight Ordovis Boss Guide

  • Tanky Spirit Ashes
  • Multiple Spirit Ashes
  • Summon players
  • Status effects

This is one of the hardest dungeon bosses in the game. Duo boss fights are never fun because you're outnumbered unless you use Spirit Ashes or summon other players, but this fight takes the cake. Not only is it a duo boss fight, but the bosses are two Crucible Knights. One of, if not the, toughest elite enemy in Elden Ring.

It is absolutely recommended to use a tanky Spirit Ash or summon other players for this fight. Even with help, expect this fight to take a long time. You will have to be very patient and take things slow to be able to whittle down these knights' health. No matter if you're level 20, 80, or 120, these guys will take time and effort for them to go down.

Whether you're a mage or a melee fighter, time is something you don't have much of. You don't want to stand around casting spells that take a while to cast or colossal weapons that take a while to swing. Still, whether you have fast spells and weapons or not, you will have to play the slow game. Don't worry about doing enough damage but instead worry about ticking away at their health patiently. Summons make this more bearable but even with summons it will take time.

Some strategies to make this easier for all players are to use spells or weapons with status effects and use distractions. The dragon spell incantation Rot Breath will easily whittle the knights' health down. AOE that can affect both knights and doesn't take long to cast will help you a ton. While your status effect is consistently doing damage, you can better control the battlefield and get extra damage in.

You don't have to have a faith build to use status effects, you can find weapons (both melee and staves), that inflict scarlet rot and more. Letting these status effects chip away is crucial for tough boss fights since you won't be able to get enough consistent damage in yourself without the fight lasting hours.

If you do use incantations or are a mage, it would be wise to use Spirit Ashes that distract the bosses instead of doing more damage. Ashes like Skeletal Militiaman and Avionette Soldier will have multiple summons at once. Though they are squishier, because there are multiple summons, they end up being a better distraction. This way you can have time to cast inflict more damage.
